    These VAR delays are verging on the ridiculous now. Easy for me to say as a neutral, but I’d rather live with the referees’ mistakes than have these interminable delays suck the atmosphere out of the match.

    Not a criticism of the VAR officials themselves, who are just doing the job, but there cannot be a football fan out there who enjoys this protracted offside reviews. Introduce a 90-second review timer, if you can't decide after that then let the on-field decision stand.

    More bad news injury wise for Tottenham. Rodrigo Bentancur needed treatment a few minutes ago and he's gone down on to the pitch again. It came after a bad challenge from Matty Cash, who caught Bentancur on the ankle with a badly-timed sliding challenge.

    On comes Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, with Bentancur hobbling off.

    It took longer than it should've done - almost three minutes - but eventually the VAR lines appear on the graphic and Ollie Watkins was adjudged offside when he headed in from Lucas Digne's cross past Guglielmo Viacrio.

    The ball bounces off the knee of Diego Carlos and into the net, but it will go down as Lo Celso's goal - his first of the season.

    Wow, a mad game, it could be 3-1, yet it's goalless. Villa's defence is suspect already.

    How is this still goalless? Again Brennan Johnson is free in the box and again he is unselfish.

    Son Heung-min has a tap-in with the goal at his mercy if the ball reaches him, but brilliant goal-saving defending from Diego Carlos, facing the wrong way, and he manages to get a backheel to the cross to stop it reaching Son.

    The best 0-0 you could wish to see so far.

    There's a hive of activity outside Goodison Park with a number of volunteers handing out thousands of anti-Premier League protest cards, making clear their feeling of injustice at the 10-point deduction.

    New banners will be displayed in the stands after fans' group The 1878 raised over £40,000 during a crowd funding campaign.

    One of the organisers, Benjamin Winstanley of The Bullens View podcast, arrived early to make sure all supporters will join together to make their feelings known.

    "There is a strong feeling of injustice," he tells BBC Sport before the game. "The fine is disproportionate but it has brought fan together for one narrative.

    "We saw the plane over the Etihad Stadium on Saturday and this game is live on TV too so we are doing as much as we can with banners and card.

    "Now we need to rally together to push for the appeal. It is uniting the fanbase, that is for sure.

    "Manager Sean Dyche will relish his moment, he is the perfect manager right now for what we are up against. We have our backs to the wall, it is us against everyone else."

    Go hard and low. It's a comfortable height for Emiliano Martinez. If he tries to drill it into the far corner and misses it Son Heung-min is there at the back post for a tap in.

    This is one of the most open starts to a game I've seen in a while. Brennan Johnson is free on the right side of the six-yard box but just can't find a team-mate.

    And Spurs come again. Pedro Porro releases Johnson down the left, this time he does find a team-mate - and it's the man Spurs fans want on the end of it - Son Heung-min.

    But, slightly off balance, but unmarked 10 yards out and central, sends his finish over the top. What a chance. You would've bet on Son netting from there.
