  3. Villa playing with 'confidence'published at 15:57 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Nottingham Forest v Aston Villa (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

Chris Sutton prediction graphicImage source, BBC Sport

Whenever Nottingham Forest are at home they are difficult to beat, but I don't think Aston Villa are finding it difficult against anyone at the moment.

Unai Emery's side are playing with such confidence as well as being so well set-up. They score a lot of goals, and it is going to be hard for Forest to stop them.

I remember that Stephen Warnock backed Villa to make the top four at the start of the season and in all honesty I was thinking that was a stretch, but it isn't looking such a bad shout now.

Forest have gone six games without a win, although they have drawn four of them.

That's seen them slip down the table but I don't see them getting dragged into the relegation battle. Compared to the teams below them, they have got more than enough to stay up.

    Sutton's prediction: 0-2

  4. The Football News Show: St James' Barkpublished at 15:55 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Former Newcastle United midfielder Lee Clark says the club's form has the city "buzzing".

Such is the excitement, even Clark's dog Poppy wanted in on the chat when he spoke to The Football News Show.

  5. Martinez 'always improving'published at 15:54 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Nottingham Forest v Aston Villa (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery on Emiliano Martinez winning the Yashin Trophy: "Martinez, as a person, is very competitive in all of his career and when he came here to the Premier League 12 years ago, progressively he is improving a lot.

"His mentality is very brilliant, always he wants to improve individually and collectively with the team.

"I was with him in Arsenal before and I knew always that he wanted to get something important. To get this award is magnificent for him and we can be proud of him."

  6. Can Nicolas Jackson solve Chelsea's attacking problems?published at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Tottenham v Chelsea (Mon, 20:00 GMT)

The Standard's Nizaar Kinsella says Nicolas Jackson has a rawness about him in Chelsea's forward line.

He feels Jackson "isn't ready" for the Blues so early in his career but that the 21-year-old has offered eye-catching glimpses.

Chris Kent: There’s a lot of criticism about Bruno being Utd captain, but I can’t think of anyone in that team that would be a good replacement. Long gone are the days when we had several captains on the pitch.

  8. Patience needed with Pochettinopublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Tottenham v Chelsea (Mon, 20:00 GMT)

Mauricio Pochettino needs "time" to deliver the "solution" Chelsea need.

That's the view of Guillem Balague, who has told The Football News Show Pochettino has to re-build a winning "culture" at Stamford Bridge.

  9. Moreno closing in on returnpublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Nottingham Forest v Aston Villa (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery on Alex Moreno's injury: "He is progressively getting better and is training with the team, not competitively, but he is close to being available to play and maybe can be available on Sunday."

  10. Emery not getting carried awaypublished at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Nottingham Forest v Aston Villa (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery on a strong start to the season: "I have to be in good balance when we are winning and losing, I have to be clinical in my analyse of how we can improve.

"I don't want this to stop, I want the progression to continue and we want to win every match.

"We want to connect with our supporters and win for them. We want to go to big places but it's important to focus in every match."

  11. Greenwood to miss Arsenal match after head injurypublished at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Arsenal v Man City (Sun, 12:30 GMT)

    Manchester City

Manchester City women's boss Gareth Taylor has confirmed defender Alex Greenwood will miss his side's match with Arsenal on Sunday.

Greenwood sustained a head injury in England's defeat by Belgium in the Women's Nations League.

The defender was treated for almost 12 minutes on the pitch after clashing heads with Belgium forward Jassina Blom in Leuven on Tuesday.

"We’ve gone through all the necessary protocols that come with these types of head injuries," Taylor said in his press conference this afternoon.

"Of course she won’t be available for the weekend and we’ll make sure that her return to a playing timeframe is managed in the right way.

"I think it was a nasty blow first and foremost. There was a lot of concern regarding Alex at that moment.

"She’s due to see a specialist next week so we’ll know more [about a return date] when the experts have assessed her."

  12. 'Drives me potty'published at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Brentford v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

Chris Sutton predictions graphicImage source, BBC Sport

Whenever West Ham lose a couple of games, you hear the usual rumblings from the same old people, asking if manager David Moyes should still be in the job.

It drives me potty. Moyes has done brilliantly and a spell of poor form doesn't change that.

Brentford went through a bit of a sticky patch themselves recently, with four defeats in seven games, but they are flying at the moment.

The Bees got a big win against Chelsea last week and, as I've said before, they are so well balanced and well organised.

I was tempted to go for another draw here, but I am actually going to go for Brentford to edge it.

They beat the Hammers 2-0 home and away in the league last year, so I have picked the same scoreline again.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Man United should stick with Erik Ten Hag and back him by giving him some quality players to work with instead of some of these older big ego "Has Beens" and a few others who think they are something special but in reality their performances show they are very average and lucky to be playing for a big club.

    Tony, Utd supporter since 1968.

  14. Ten Hag has done good thingspublished at 15:36 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Brentford v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    West Ham United

West Ham manager David Moyes on Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag: "There is nobody stepping in because Ten Hag is there.

"As long as he has good support from the board, and it sounds like he does, then it's only speculation.

"At United you have to win games, it's a big part of the job.

On whether managers are starting to take more criticism: "It has always been directed at managers. Most of the time we are talking about managers losing their jobs and not players losing their jobs.

"Being at United is a pressure job, you're expected to win and win in style. I think Erik ten Hag has done a lot of really good things but I have to focus on West Ham."

  15. 'We have a good chance'published at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Brentford v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Brentford

Brentford manager Thomas Frank on facing West Ham: "West Ham are a very good side. They’ve had a good start to the season and did excellently in the transfer market this summer with [Edson] Alvarez and [Mohammed] Kudus, who is a fantastic player.

"We trust ourselves and believe that if we top perform we have a good chance."

  16. Win against Chelsea was 'very impressive'published at 15:27 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Brentford v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Brentford

Brentford manager Thomas Frank on beating Chelsea last weekend: "Every Premier League win is something you should celebrate.

"When you play against a club like Chelsea, and when you manage to do it again at Stamford Bridge, it is very impressive.

"The performance, especially the second-half, made it so impressive."

  17. Kudus and Alvarez doing wellpublished at 15:23 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Brentford v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    West Ham United

West Ham manager David Moyes on new signings impressing: "We've got a different group of players to what we've had in the past, we've got a different skillset.

"Ultimately, when you win games you get praise and it's the opposite when you lose.

"Mohammed Kudus has done well as has Edson Alvarez, the two lads who came from Ajax."

  18. Flekken on 'upwards trajectory'published at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Brentford v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Brentford

Brentford manager Thomas Frank on goalkeeper Mark Flekken: "Any player in the world needs confidence; you get that from training well, knowing your own abilities, and good performances in games.

"It was nice to get two clean sheets but for me the performances in both were very good. I’m sure he’s on an upwards trajectory."

  19. 'I hope Toney plays here forever'published at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Brentford v West Ham (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Brentford

Brentford manager Thomas Frank on Ivan Toney: "He is a very good player. To have a proven goalscorer in the Premier League is very valuable.

"Ivan’s skillset in terms of his finishing abilities, his composure, and his link-up play, plus his character, is a very good package. I hope he plays here forever."

It's difficult to know what United's football style is because the players don't execute it properly. Half hearted pressing is worse than not pressing at all. And we make far too many individual mistakes, which you can't really mitigate if you're the manager. That's the players responsibility
