Fulham v Man Utd (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

  3. 'It's something good for football'published at 14:00 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Fulham manager Marco Silva on Rebecca Welch, who will become the first female fourth official in a Premier League match: "Many people will look at it as the first time, the spotlight will be there, but it’s a normal situation for us.

  4. Ten Hag looking to 'win every game'published at 13:58 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Fulham v Man Utd (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    Manchester United

And finally from Erik ten Hag, the Manchester United manager has this to say on the importance of Saturday's meeting with Fulham: "I never think in such scenarios, we have to win every game.

"We put every effort in and I'm sure the players are ready to execute the plan tomorrow.

"The players are hard to beat but in this moment, after two defeats, we didn't show it. I'm convinced in the long term the players will be hard to beat and they know how to do it."

  5. Ten Hag 'convinced' in current squadpublished at 13:56 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Fulham v Man Utd (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on potential investment from Sir Jim Ratcliffe and additional funds for transfers: "I have a good squad and I'm convinced in the players in this dressing room.

"These players, as you saw last year, can do better and I need to let them play better. That is my responsibility.

"I'm not thinking about [transfer] windows because I have a good squad and we will play better when players return from injury."

  6. 'Philosophy's not different' to last seasonpublished at 13:54 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Fulham v Man Utd (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    Manchester United

Erik ten Hag on his comments about Manchester United not being able to play like Ajax: "The explanation was wrong. I can't play like Ajax because I have different players. I came here with my philosophy of possession to combine it with Manchester United's DNA.

"Last year we saw how that was. We played good football last season. This season the philosophy is not different.

"I don't want to go for long balls, I bought Andre Onana. I want to play from the back, we tried that against Man City but when teams do a high press the long ball is an option.

"I explained in the USA [during pre-season] how we want to play. We want to play from different blocks and then go long. Rasmus Hojlund, Marcus Rashford, Antony and Scott McTominay can play passes to Christian Eriksen and our full-backs are very good at that."

  7. 'The intention's clear - but execution isn't'published at 13:50 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Fulham v Man Utd (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on a lack of team identity: "I think that is too strong. The intention is clear but the execution isn't.

"At the moment we are in with so many changes in each game. We can't line up the same for two or three games and last season was the same.

"Now, often we miss players in the back four and we have to adjust, also in the midfield. We are missing Casemiro.

"We have to win and I don't want to find excuses if we don't win. We have to be more pragmatic."

  8. Man Utd players 'want to put this right'published at 13:47 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Fulham v Man Utd (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    Manchester United

"We will fight back. The players are strong, the coaches are strong and the manager is strong."

  9. Fightback against Brentford showed United's fight - Ten Hagpublished at 13:42 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Fulham v Man Utd (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    Manchester United

It's too late for Man Utd to sack yet another manager. They've pretty much gone through the full set. Sacking another will further crank up the failure culture that seems to be festering there now. Ten Haag is not my favourite of the bunch, (Ole holds that distinction), but he needs now to be trusted to get through all the negative stuff and sort it out his way. Sack him and its just start all over again on a wing and prayer.

  11. Varane could return for Man Utdpublished at 13:37 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Fulham v Man Utd (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

  12. Spurs return 'wasn't offered' to Pochettinopublished at 13:35 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Tottenham v Chelsea (Mon, 20:00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino on what reception he expects from the Tottenham fans: "I'm not going to say anything at the moment. Until Monday, we can't guess.

"We can't forget everything we lived together and I'm going to respect the people and how they feel. It won't change my feelings though."

Was there a chance he could have gone back to Tottenham as manager? "No. When we finished or relationship with Paris St-Germain we wanted one year outside of football and then the offer with Chelsea arrived and I'm happy to be here."

  13. Spurs return 'an exciting moment'published at 13:32 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Tottenham v Chelsea (Mon, 20:00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino on going back to former club Tottenham: "It's really special to go back to a place where we created amazing memories together. It's special, I'm not going to lie. That is true.

"When we left the club it was a difficult moment but now I have the opportunity to come back and see many people who are still working there. It will be an exciting moment.

"I always said that clubs I wouldn't manage are Arsenal, because they are considered the worst enemy for Tottenham, and Barcelona, because of Espanyol.

"Now it's strange to come back after four years and for me it will be a happy day. That is life, we need to move on. We are professional but at the same time we are human and we feel."

  14. Fit-again James a 'very important player'published at 13:27 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Tottenham v Chelsea (Mon, 20:00 GMT)

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino on whether Reece James will start: "I don't know, we'll see. We'll see first of all if he is available. It was good for him to start the game [against Blackburn] after a few months [out]. He's our captain and a very important player."

  16. Almost time for Ten Hagpublished at 13:23 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Fulham v Man Utd (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    BBC Sport

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is due here soon to look ahead to Saturday's trip to Fulham.

I suspect the form of Marco Silva's men will not be top of the agenda given the issues at Old Trafford.

It is 2009 since United last lost at Fulham.

  17. Man Utd on course for an all-time lowpublished at 13:21 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Fulham v Man Utd (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

For whoever is to decide on the managerial position at Old Trafford, these stats will make for grim reading:

    • Manchester United have lost eight or more of their first 15 games in a season for the first time since 1962-63 (9).
    • United have lost five of their first 10 games at home for the first time since 1930-31.
    • United have lost half of their games in the Premier League this season (5); their most defeats from their opening 10 games of a league campaign since 1986-87 (6).
    • United are averaging 1.5 points per game this term in the top flight; that’s an all-time low for a single season in the Premier League.
  18. Who would decide on Ten Hag amid ownership mess?published at 13:18 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Fulham v Man Utd (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

The key issue at Manchester United just now is knowing who would make a decision about Erik ten Hag's future.

The Glazer family remain owners but their search for 'strategic alternatives' around funding the Old Trafford operation is yet to be concluded despite a widespread belief Sir Jim Ratcliffe is going to take a 25% stake.

Although that would still leave him behind the Glazer family, Ratcliffe's business dealings with Ineos don't suggest he would be a passive investor.

So, if there was a decision to make on Ten Hag, who would make it?

Little wonder plenty of people at United have been telling me privately that the current review needs to be fast-tracked to bring clarity to the whole decision-making process.

The pressure is building on Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag after two heavy defeats.

A 3-0 loss against Manchester City in the Premier League was followed by a 3-0 loss against Newcastle in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

Saturday's trip to Fulham in the Premier League is now crucial and could play a major role in deciding whether the Dutchman continues in his post.
