  1. Foster unlikely to return before international breakpublished at 11:22 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Burnley v Crystal Palace (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Burnley

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany on injuries: "At the moment there are still no signs of improvement [with Lyle Foster]. The only thing I can more or less say is he probably won't be available before the international break and its something we have to deal with.

"I don't think I can go into too many details now, but I'm sure next week we can discuss it further.

"[Aaron] Ramsey has felt OK. It's not a classic hamstring thing, it's just a knock.

"[Jordan] Bayer is really positive. He has been training well. [Hjalmar] Ekdal is slowly getting there. I can't tell you if he'll be match-fit before the international break.

"They are just freak injuries, it's nothing we've been doing in training. I think both just twisted their knees."

Burnley v Crystal Palace (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

Burnley v Crystal Palace (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Burnley

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany on whether the feeling of staying up this season will top the feeling of winning promotion from the Championship last season: "Nothing was comfortable about last season. We had so many games crammed in and 20 new players coming in. It wasn't comfortable, but it was nice.

"This season, I think it would be of equal order [as getting promoted] because it's a necessary step for the club in terms of growing in this league.

"Staying up is not just a way of saying 'this is what you will be doing for 10 years', but it's about growing. This year is by far the hardest."

    Burnley

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany on whether he has spoken with the PGMOL after a controversial VAR call in the loss against Bournemouth: "I have to put that behind me. I don't want to constantly be putting ourselves in the victim situation.

"I want to highlight there are open conversations. There is discussion and the chance to maybe change some perspectives.

"At this time it has been a succession of events we could do without but we have to move on to the next game and try to get the rewards tomorrow."

  5. 'Bar has been raised' in Premier League standardspublished at 11:01 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Burnley v Crystal Palace (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Burnley

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany on the strength of the Premier League: "Since I left the league as a player four years ago, I think the bar has been raised.

"The teams we would be competing with at the moment, If we're serious about staying up, would be Nottingham Forest and maybe Bournemouth because they are the teams next up from us in the league.

"If you look at the investment that the teams at the bottom are putting in, that wouldn't have been the case when I was playing in the league.

"It's great for the level of the league but it means your first year in the Premier League is probably tougher. It means it won't be easy but if you get over that hurdle you can put distance between yourselves and the teams coming up."

    Burnley

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany on veteran Palace boss Roy Hodgson: "I've been looking at his history as a coach. He's been through so many countries and he has such a huge knowledge of the world.

"I can see why he's still doing it and why he still has passion. I have a father at a similar age and he's still as active as Roy."

  12. 'I don't see Luton coping with Liverpool's attacking talent'published at 10:25 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Luton v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

Chris Sutton predictions graphicImage source, BBC Sport

Luton apparently don't get spanked at home - that's what Statman Dave tells me anyway.

I am not convinced, because I remember when they played Tottenham at Kenilworth Road at the start of October, and Spurs could have been about 4-0 up in the first 15 minutes.

To be fair to the Hatters, they are making the best fist of life in the top flight out of all the promoted teams, but I don't see them coping with Liverpool's array of attacking talent. Sutton's prediction: 0-3.

  13. Reds 'won't put pressure' on Bajcetic or Thiago returnpublished at 10:23 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Luton v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on Stefan Bajcetic's fitness: "His quality, potential and talent - everyone can see. But everyone has a different body and we just had to put the brakes on him. There is no timeframe we can put on his return and we absolutely won't.

"He's here training and working but we have to help him get the body and we know he has the quality."

"With Thiago, it's an ongoing thing. We aren't putting pressure on him but we expect him back in the New Year. We can't wait to have him back, he's an exceptional player."

  14. It's still early in the season - Klopppublished at 10:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Luton v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on making a strong start to the season: "I'm really positive about the team but it is so early [in the season].

"There are so many good teams out there. It's not about celebrating the moment and being relieved that we can play football again, it's about using the full potential of the group."

Luton v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on Cody Gakpo: "Since Cody has been here, he has played many positions. He had to play in midfield but that was never the plan, we just had to do it.

"He is a versatile striker and arrives into the box well. He's a top player and a good character.

"All the boys like each other. It's not a competition, they like to be together. If one doesn't start they know they have a chance to come on and kill the game off."

  16. Diaz back in trainingpublished at 10:11 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

Luton v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on Luis Diaz: "We will not force the Luis [Diaz] situation. It's out of our hands, we are just waiting for good news.

"He was in training two days ago, yesterday he did a session, and he will be part of the team.

"If he feels right, he will train with us. When he's with the boys he's fine but you can tell he hasn't slept a lot. We will wait to see how he is and go from there.

"The news - I didn't personally get from Colombia, I always get it forwarded - but everything that gives us a bit of hope is good. We are waiting for really good news."

  17. 'I love Luton's story'published at 10:07 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2023

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on playing at Kenilworth Road: "I heard about it but I haven't seen it yet. It's a ground I haven't been to and I'm looking forward to it.

"I've heard the dressing room isn't massive, but we only need to get changed and then it's a football match.

"I love [Luton's] story. I don't think anyone expected them to get promoted last season and they did an exceptional job.

"They want to get everything out of this season and go point by point. It will be difficult because it's their ground."

"He is here and feels extremely well. He is in great shape on the pitch and he's in even better shape off the pitch, he's really positive.

"He enjoys the company with the boys and wants to maximise the potential."
