Two more minutes to go. Malta are playing keep-ball.
Meanwhile in Rome, Italy have gone 4-2 up against North Macedonia.
England 2-0 Malta
Harry Maguire meets Phil Foden's corner but can't direct his header towards goal and Malta easily clear.
England 2-0 Malta
Cole Palmer has a smile as wide as the Wembley arch as some brilliant skill sees him beat his defender and win a corner.
England 2-0 Malta
Six minutes added on. A few groans from the crowd. Genuinely!
England 2-0 Malta
A lot of empty seats now.
England 2-0 Malta
Trent Alexander-Arnold has a go from range and, with the ball dipping fiercely, Malta keeper Henry Bonello does well to palm the shot away.
England 2-0 Malta
Ah, almost a third!
Harry Kane sets up Kyle Walker on the right and the England runners are queuing up in the middle.
Walker's cut-back finds Declan Rice but the ball is a little behind the midfielder and he takes a heavy touch which trickles out of play.
England 2-0 Malta

Italy vs Ukraine shaping up to be a juicy game. I reckon Ukraine can win it though. Italy look vulnerable and everyone wants Ukraine to win.

England are playing sideways again. This is a good result, but the performance hasn't blown our socks off.

Anon: Referee and VAR are shocking, 2 penalty claims not checked (1 is a definite penalty), goal by Rice disallowed by VAR when it was a definite goal. The word Specsavers comes to mind!
David: Do we only have offside VAR tonight? What about the version called 'penalty VAR'? Very odd.
Anon: Well. At least England aren't the most disappointing team tonight. That goes to the officials...
England 2-0 Malta
That VAR call has stalled England's progress.
In fact it's Malta who build as Teddy Teuma sets up Yannick Yankam who fires a shot just the wrong side of England's near post.
England 2-0 Malta
Elsewhere there's a thriller in the makings in Group C's other match tonight. North Macedonia have recovered from 3-0 down to cut the deficit to 3-2.
A nervy finish coming up.

Harry Kane is offside but Harry Kane is not in the line of the goalkeeper's sight and I am not sure if he was impacting the goalkeeper that much. Unfortunately it rules out a very good goal.
England 2-0 Malta
It's ruled out!
A couple of England players are in an offside position when the shot is taken, but it doesn't deflect off anyone, and nobody is blocking the Malta keeper's line of sight.
I'm not entirely sure what's wrong with that goal to be honest.
Hang on. We're checking it.

He has certainly made an impact since he's come on, Declan Rice. He drives forward and has one thing in his mind: to put this team on the back foot.
That run from Foden makes the space for him and he picks his spot and curls it into that far post.
It's a brilliant third goal for England.
Declan Rice
Boom! The old one-two.
Substitute Declan Rice is given acres in the middle and the Arsenal man dribbles forward before smashing the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Just the 93 seconds between the two goals.

Brilliant goal. Easily the best move England have managed to put together all night.
Malta have to jump out of position to do something and England play round them.
Harry Kane doesn't miss from there.
