    Martin: I am old enough to remember when Jack Grealish used to run at players and make things happen. What has happened to that player?

    Adrian: Bellingham aside I reckon the player we miss most is John Stones. Someone to step out from defence and bring it forward. And he can pass forwards more than three feet.

    England making a meal of this just shows people can't get carried away thinking we'll win the Euros. It Bellingham and/or Kane get injured this is the squad we're left with, and under Southgate they aren't up to much.

    Trent Alexander-Arnold plays a lovely ball inside the full-back, Jack Grealish runs on to it and swings in a first-time cross from the left, but there's too much on it and it flies past Harry Kane in the middle.

    Twelve minutes plus injury-time to go in Leverkusen, Germany. Ukraine one goal away from clinching their place in the finals, but at the moment Italy are hanging on to the point they need to secure second spot in England's Group C.

    England seem to just be getting caught up in the excitement of an open game.

    North Macedonia have been more attacking this half, there is more space to play into. In the first half they were camped outside of their own penalty area.

    England seem to be in such a rush to get forward that their possession is a bit lax and poorly timed and judged.

    This is a good test for England's players to try to keep their composure in hostile circumstances, with loads of extremely debatable decisions going against them, with some rough stuff from the home players.

    No-one wants to lose their heads now and get a suspension.

    Bukayo Saka has looked very good today. He spins and has a shot, but it is blocked. England have had 75% of the ball with 20 of the 90 to go. Can they turn the possession into goals?

    On the two occasions where they have been under threat, it was very much their own doing.
