He tries to volley it from deep but completely mistimes it.

Harvey Elliott slides it through to Luis Diaz on the right. He tries to cut it back by Chris Mepham blocks it and it comes back off Diaz for a goal kick.

Bournemouth need to show a little bit more composure when they do get the ball. Liverpool win it back and they come forward again.

"Come on Bournemouth", chant the home fans as Liverpool are just starting to go up a gear at the Vitality.

They have settled in possession now and are testing the defence with set-pieces.

But Bournemouth will be pleased with their opening half an hour's worth of work.

Ibrahima Konate can't get his head on the end of a floated cross but Chris Mepham puts it behind for a second Liverpool corner in a row.

Virgil van Dijk is the target for the next set-piece but it's well defended by Bournemouth.

I think Liverpool have grown into it, they're looking like the better team at the moment.

Bournemouth have that ability to bounce forward.

Darwin Nunez forces a save out of Neto with a long-range effort but it was straight at the Bournemouth keeper.

Darwin Nunez has players in the box for support but he runs straight into Marcus Tavernier, then Joe Gomez fouls Max Aarons.

Alexis Mac Allister curls in a deep free-kick to the back post but it's way too high for Ibrahima Konate and goes straight out of play.

Harvey Elliott tries to poke it through to Luis Diaz on the right but Luis Sinisterra blocks it.

Liverpool haven't been able to create much at all.

Chris Mepham has given away a free-kick for a foul on Diogo Jota here though.

Alexis Mac Allister has space to run into in the centre but he drags the shot just wide of the left post.

Bournemouth break down the right. Luis Sinisterra tries to tee up Dominic Solanke but the former Liverpool striker can't control it and it bounces through to Alisson harmlessly.

Harvey Elliott then wins it back for Liverpool but the move eventually breaks down and it's a goal kick.

Alexis MacAllister has three players around him in a tight space near the touchline.

He loses out to Luis Sinisterra but the Bournemouth man then gives it straight to Diogo Jota.

Had he been able to break through, there was tonnes of space in behind.
