    Fulham 0-0 Rotherham

Lovely jinking run from Andreas Pereira on the left corner of the box before he lays it off to Bobby De Cordova-Reid.

The winger shoots from 20 yards but the ball is deflected wide. The corner comes to nothing.

What on earth went on there?

Obviously Joao Gomes is obviously stretching for it but it doesn't look as if he has launched himself.

We've seen some tackles and challenges that have been really out of order but that didn't look as though it was a sending off offence, that's my gut feeling.

What happens to the player that's been tackled should be totally irrelevant.

I didn't see any malice in it, Gomes is very competitive and wins a lot of tackles and challenges.

The Brentford player [Christian Norgaard] just got there before but that's a yellow card at most, that would be fine it's spoilt the game now for me, the referee.

If Burnley do manage to beat Tottenham it will be a confidence booster. You look at that starting XI and they haven't made wholesale changes, it is a strong eleven.

Sander Berge is suspended and Aro Muric has come in for James Trafford but aside from that it is a strong team that can go and cause Tottenham problems.

They are on a hiding to nothing, no one expects them to come here and win, so if they do it would be a big achievement.

  6. Postpublished at 19:34 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January

    Brentford 0-0 Wolves

Wolves have a corner on the right. It's played in deep towards Max Kilman and he manages to bring it down at the back post, beat one defender but can't pick out a team-mate in the middle.

It ends up bouncing back off him and out for a goal kick. Josh Dasilva goes down the other end and wins a corner for Brentford.

The first attack of the game comes from Rotherham as they win a throw down the right.

Sean Morrison jogs over to take it and hurls it into the box where Jordan Hugill glances the header wide.

Wolves have no complaints on red card . There's more and more of these sneaky studs on ankle fouls creeping into the game.

Josh Dasilva has been lively for Brentford, who are starting to build pressure against 10-man Wolves.

  11. 'Van de Ven return like having a new signing'published at 19:30 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January

    Tottenham v Burnley (20:00 GMT)

    Clinton Morrison
Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

To have Micky van de Ven back in the mix is massive for Tottenham. For a while they have had full backs, Emerson Royal and Ben Davies playing at centre back, so to have him back is huge.

Since Van de Ven joined Spurs he has been excellent, he has proved a brilliant signing, and his partnership with Cristian Romero was outstanding [earlier in the season]. To have him back is like bringing in a new signing.

  12. CLOSE!published at 19:30 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January

    Brentford 0-0 Wolves

Ooh, lovely effort from Nathan Collins, who places it just over the bar after a good move from Brentford.

    Fulham v Rotherham (19:30 GMT)

    Ronnie Moore
Ex-Rotherham manager on BBC 5 Sports Extra

Rotherham have just got to be brave tonight. Everyone expects us to get beaten

We know that we won't have the ball as much as Fulham so when we get the ball, we've got to be careful and look after it.

It's just a matter of being organised. Be brave, come and enjoy it. We've got nothing to lose.

It's a great night to express yourselves and show people what you're about.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 5 January

Steve P (19:09) - it’s clear you haven’t seen recent Burnley games, our defence has improved twofold. I look forward to us proving you wrong and only conceding 1 or 2 tonight.
