Well, it's been another lively slice of Championship action this afternoon.

But there are still a few aces up the sleeve this weekend.

Leeds host Preston at Elland Road from 12:00 GMT on Sunday as they look to keep pace with the automatic promotion rivals.

And then on Monday evening, leaders Leicester entertain third-placed Ipswich who will be looking to reclaim second spot from Southampton.

So let's reconvene soon, right here.

Thank you, as ever, for your company.

  2. 'This team has the right mindset' - Moorepublished at 18:28 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    FT: Blackburn 1-1 Huddersfield

Huddersfield Town manager Darren Moore told BBC Radio Leeds that his side put in a terrific physical and mental performance.

"I've got no problem with the boys in terms of performance it's just about capitalising on our chances and making sure we take them.

"We had to be patient, Blackburn are a good team, but I think defensively we did well.

"The frustrating point was in terms of the clear-cut chances we could have capitalised more.

"The boys didn't get rocked when they fell behind, the way we responded and continued was excellent.

"We could have easily gone on to the back foot but we didn't.

"I am disappointed that we didn't get the three points but this team has the right mindset."

  3. 'We didn't create enough chances' - Tomassonpublished at 18:23 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    FT: Blackburn 1-1 Huddersfield

Blackburn boss Jon Dahl Tomasson told BBC Radio Lancashire he was proud of his side despite the draw at Ewood Park.

"We are disappointed not to win the game.

"Huddersfield came with a very clear game plan to sit back, rely on set-plays, transition moments and we know that can make it difficult to play through.

"When Hayden Carter got injured it killed the momentum a bit.

"We dominated the second half and did some great things until we got around the box.

"We didn't create enough chances or make enough runs.

"But when you can't win it it is important, not to lose the game.

"We don't know about the fitness of Carter or Harry Pickering yet - both picked up injuries - I can't say anything, I think they both need to have a scan before it is clear what they have."

Some breaking and rather disturbing news to bring you, Coventry have just released this statement following an alleged racist gesture aimed at midfielder Kasey Palmer at Hillsborough...

"Coventry City are shocked and saddened by the racist gesture directed at our player Kasey Palmer in today’s game against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

"We entirely condemn the abuse and are totally clear that there is no place for this abuse or discrimination in football or in our wider society.

"Relevant authorities will now be worked with and we expect action to be taken against any supporter identified."

Doug King, Coventry City owner, added: “We completely condemn the abuse aimed at Kasey today and will support him following this incident.

"There is no place for this in football or society and support Sheffield Wednesday and the authorities in taking the strongest possible action.”

There will be more to follow on the BBC Sport website as soon as we get it...

West Brom manager Carlos Corberán told BBC Radio WM he is disappointed with his side's performance at Carrow Road.

"Norwich had more quality touches than us.

"They made it very difficult and created more opportunities.

"The key moment of the game were the first 15 minutes of the second half.

"We created some possibilities but not enough.

"We need to improve our away record."

  6. 'Sheaf was outstanding' - Robinspublished at 18:09 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    FT: Sheff Wed 1-2 Coventry

Ben Sheaf celebrates scoringImage source, Rex Features

Coventry City manager Mark Robins heaped praise on "all-action" captain and two-goal hero Ben Sheaf when talking to BBC Coventry and Warwickshire after their win at Sheffield Wednesday.

"I think we've come out of it on the right end of a good scoreline and I think there's been some brilliant performances within it.

"I think Ben Sheaf was outstanding, not just the goals that he scored, but it was an all-action performance from him - he broke play up, got us moving forward and he's weighed in.

"You can't ignore the goals because they were outstanding, the first one particularly.

"But the second one was a different type - he's arrived in the penalty area and it was a player that I played with that looked exactly like that and it was Brian Robson. I thought he was outstanding today."

  7. 'Didn't deserve anything' - Millwall's Edwardspublished at 18:04 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    FT: QPR 2-0 Millwall

Millwall head coach Joe EdwardsImage source, Rex Features

Millwall head coach Joe Edwards was not thrilled with his side today, as he told BBC London:

“We didn’t get anything out of the game today because we didn’t deserve to. We’re better than that and I’m gutted for all the fans that travelled.

“It’s a situation where they’re under pressure, so you know if you can really step onto them early you can force that anxiety out of them a bit and I thought we settled into the game quickly.

“But then after five to 10 minutes without creating anything, we fell into a bit of lull, lost our clarity and started having a lot of the ball at the back without asking questions at the top end of the pitch.

“It looked a bit predictable for us whereas, when it was going in around Armstrong and Dykes, they were pinning us and allowing people to feed off scraps and I think that was the difference at either end of the pitch.”

  8. 'We achieved in a very important game' - QPR's Cifuentespublished at 18:01 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    FT: QPR 2-0 Millwall

QPR manager Marti Cifuentes was delighted with his side's win against London rivals Millwall, particularly pointing to what they learned from the reverse fixture just before Christmas - where they lost 2-0.

"I'm very happy for the players, for the staff, for all the people who came here all the supporters who help us through 90 minutes," Cifuentes told BBC Radio London.

"We have been working well on the pitch and training ground the last few weeks and it was sad to not get the results that we were looking for.

"We had the good performance the last game against Watford. The difference is that today we conceded only one shot on goal, only two shots over 90 minutes. We had the capacity to score some of the chances that we created.

"Today we achieved in a very important game for us because to win a derby - especially after the experience we got at Millwall away - the players understood that we needed to adjust some things and all the credit for them because they took the stuff forward and we did it."

  9. Can Norwich make a promotion push?published at 17:57 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

Time to get those thumbs loose again?

Norwich are only two points outside the play-offs following back-to-back wins.

Can they make a push for the top six come the end of the season?

Thumbs up if you agree, thumbs down if you're shaking your head.

  10. 'It was a fantastic afternoon' - Wagnerpublished at 17:55 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    FT: Norwich 2-0 West Brom

Norwich boss David Wagner didn't hide his delight when talking to BBC Radio Norfolk after their win against fellow play-off chasers West Brom.

"Considering we played on Wednesday and West Brom lay on the sofa...I'm delighted for the players and everyone who was in the stadium," he said.

"A clean sheet, two wonderful goals and the chances for scoring more, it was a fantastic afternoon.

"I know what this team is capable of - everybody sees, I think, that we have a few more alternatives in our squad in recent weeks than we had before and competition always helps.

"We keep going, we keep pushing, it's a long season and hopefully we continue like we have done."

  11. 'Every away point is golden' - Richardsonpublished at 17:51 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    FT: Middlesbrough 1-1 Rotherham

Leam Richardson on the touchlineImage source, Rex Features

Rotherham boss Leam Richardson was delighted with the workrate of his team, but disappointed to have come away without a rare away win after Boro's late equaliser.

It's now 27 matches since the Championship's bottom side last won away from home.

"Any point away from home at this level is golden," he told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"I thought the lads fought terrifically hard.

"It’s been a tough week - we've had to train in fits and starts at certain places because of the weather, but I thought for large parts of the game we were competitive.

"Every goal can be avoided but I certainly won’t deny the commitment and the output of the players.

"I think the game panned out they way we probably thought it would have done, it was just disappointing with the goal we conceded.”

  12. 'Delighted he's off the mark' - Robins boss Manningpublished at 17:44 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    FT: Bristol City 1-1 Watford

Scott Twine clapsImage source, Rex Features

Bristol City manager Liam Manning has been singing the praises of Scott Twine, who joined the club this week on loan from Burnley and scored the Robins' equaliser on his debut.

"He had a better chance before [his goal] with a cut back that I'd expect him to be better on," Manning told BBC Radio Bristol.

"I think it's his first headed goal, right place, right time and I'm delighted that he's off the mark with it.

"I think the big thing is you just see his quality in the set piece.

"It doesn't surprise me that we had three, four, five terrific opportunities off set pieces and the consistency and speed he puts on his delivery is excellent."

  13. 'We had to dig in' - Blues boss Mowbraypublished at 17:40 Greenwich Mean Time 20 January

    FT: Stoke 1-2 Birmingham

Tony Mowbray clapsImage source, Rex Features

Birmingham City boss Tony Mowbray was full of praise for goalscorers Jay Stansfield and Juninho Bacuna as they helped deliver his first Championship win as Blues boss following a draw in his first game.

"It was a brilliant goal, that first goal. How clinical is Jay Stansfield when he is through like that?" Mowbray said in his post-match interview with BBC Radio WM

"And then Bacuna, we see that [free-kick] every day in training. He is mad as a hatter, but he has amazing skills.

"We had to dig in. We knew if they got one it would be difficult because it's their stadium and their crowd would be right behind them and almost sucking the ball into the net.

"It was some good play in the first half, we looked a threat, and then in the second half we had to dig in and get plenty of men behind the ball to see it out."

    • Coventry have lost just one of their last 13 games in the Championship (W8 D4), while only Southampton (31) have won more points in the division than the Sky Blues (28) since November 11th.
    • Middlesbrough’s 82nd minute equaliser saw Rotherham’s winless away run in the Championship extend to 27 games – this is the longest run without an away win by any side in the competition since March 2019, when the Millers themselves went 43 without a victory.
    • Plymouth’s Morgan Whittaker became the second player to be directly involved in 20+ goals in the Championship this season. He has 21 goal involvements in total - hitting the back of the net 15 times and has provided six assists. Southampton’s Adam Armstrong (25) the only other player to have done so.
