  1. goal

GOAL: Swindon 2-0 Colchesterpublished at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Tom Brewitt (43 mins)

Swindon double their lead just before the break.

A lofted ball into the box for Charlie Austin to chase ends up bouncing off him as he's challenged by a defender but it drops to Tom Brewitt who reacts to fire the ball into the roof of the net from a couple of yards.

Not the start new Colchester boss Danny Cowley wanted.

  2. 'Akins a little flat'published at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Mansfield 0-1 Crewe

    Andy White
Ex-Mansfield striker on BBC Radio Nottingham

For me Lucas Akins needs to be more alive in the area.

I don't know how long it's been since he last got a goal, but he seems a little flat right now.

  3. goal

GOAL: Salford City 1-1 Forest Greenpublished at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Charlie McCann (39 mins)

Forest Green draw level before the break.

Charlie McCann fires the ball into the bottom corner of the net from just outside the nearside corner of the six-yard-box.

That is his first goal with the club.

    Game on!

  4. 'Very dangerous position'published at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Exeter 0-0 Carlisle

    Pat Baldwin
Former Exeter City defender on BBC Radio Devon

You want them to be on that first man, but at the end of the day it's all down to the delivery.

This is a very dangerous position for an Exeter free kick.

  5. Postpublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Mansfield 0-1 Crewe

Great stop from Tom Booth in the Crewe goal to preserve his side's lead!

George Maris was the man who went close for Mansfield and seconds later as Crewe make a mess of clearing the danger, Stephen Quinn sees a goalbound effort well-blocked by a defender.

The hosts are really starting to crank up the pressure with half-time on the horizon.

  6. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Port Vale 0-1 Charlton

Port Vale midfielder Conor Grant sends the ball into the box.

James Wilson's strike looks to be stopped by a Charlton defenders hand.

The referee - stood 10 yards away - says no and waves to play on.

Ooof ... we'd like to see a replay of that one.

  7. 'Decision goes Cheltenham's way'published at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Cheltenham 0-0 Portsmouth

    Mark Halliwell
    BBC Radio Gloucestershire summariser

A WhatsApp group I'm in said that was a nailed-on penalty, another said it wasn't.

Football is full of opinions, but the referee's opinion went in Cheltenham's favour.

Pompey's Abu Kamara went down inside the box but appeals for a penalty were waved away and Kamara was booked for simulation.

  8. Postpublished at 15:34 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Mansfield 0-1 Crewe

Mansfield Town and Crewe in actionImage source, Rex Features

Mansfield are still looking for a way back into this one.

Jordan Bowery flashes a dangerous cross in but there is nobody on the end of it.

No shots on target yet for Nigel Clough's side - he won't be pleased with how this is going that's for sure.

  9. Postpublished at 15:33 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Cheltenham 0-0 Portsmouth

Cheltenham have been forced into a first-half change against the league leaders - Ben Williams has gone off injured and Will Ferry is on to replace him.

    Still goalless.

  10. goal

GOAL: Port Vale 0-1 Charltonpublished at 15:32 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Corey Blackett-Taylor (28 mins)

Awful defending from Port Vale and Charlton make them pay.

The ball is headed back into the box after it was cleared from a corner.

Corey Blackett-Taylor is left unmarked on the edge of the six-yard-box and the ball lands at his feet and he just strokes it into the back of the net.

    Too easy.

  11. Postpublished at 15:30 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Exeter 0-0 Carlisle

Chances for both teams but still no goals between Exeter and Carlisle, who have both been in wretched form in the past couple of months.

Exeter were top after eight games but have only won once since then, while Carlisle beat Port Vale on 1 January for their first win in League One since 24 October.

Both were in the bottom four at the start of play today - three points against a side also fighting against relegation would be most welcome.

  12. Postpublished at 15:28 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Barrow 0-0 Tranmere

This intriguing battle is yet to really catch fire but Barrow are starting to get on top after a bright Tranmere start.

Barrow lost their 15-match unbeaten run when Wrexham hammered them 4-1 on New Year's Day and are looking to get back to winning ways today.

However, they face an in-form Tranmere who have won their last four games and are looking to push themselves up towards the playoff spots.

  13. 'Crewe need to run at Mansfield'published at 15:28 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Mansfield 0-0 Crewe

    Peter Morse
Sports Journalist on BBC Radio Stoke

Crewe have got obvious strengths here

Aden Flint and Bailey Cargill are big and powerful, but they won't like to run.

Crewe need to run at them.

  14. 'Lane caught in two minds'published at 15:25 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Cheltenham 0-0 Portsmouth

    Mark Halliwell
    BBC Radio Gloucestershire summariser

Caught in two minds there, Paddy Lane.

Personally I thought he chose to shoot but he skewed the chance wide.

    Portsmouth pressing for an opener...

  15. Postpublished at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Cheltenham 0-0 Portsmouth

Cheltenham are taking on League One leaders Portsmouth at the start of a January in which they also travel to promotion-chasing duo Derby and Bolton.

Points might be at a premium for the Robins.

Pompey have gone close again to an opener, but Marlon Pack's shot was saved.

  16. 'Put Colchester to the sword'published at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Swindon 1-0 Colchester

    Ian Herring
Former Swindon Town player on BBC Radio Wiltshire

It's not just through Charlie Austin, but Swindon are causing real problems again through Tyrese Shade.

Hopefully they can put Colchester to the sword now.

  17. goal

GOAL: Swindon 1-0 Colchesterpublished at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Charlie Austin (pen 18 mins)

    It had been coming.

Swindon have been piling on the pressure and get their reward as a defender wrestles a Swindon player to the ground in the box and the ref points to the spot.

Veteran striker Charlie Austin powers the spot kick straight down the middle of the goal to put the Robins in front.

Danny Cowley has work to do already to get his team back in to this as they have been second best so far.

  18. RED CARDpublished at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Salford City 1-0 Forest Green

Salford boss Karl Robinson is sent off in his side's League Two game against Forest GreenImage source, Rex Features

Salford City's manager Karl Robinson has been given a red card and sent off.

Hard to see exactly what happened.

Looks like the referee thinks he might have been trying to interfere with a Forest Green throw-in along the touchline.

Either way, Salford's new manager has been told to leave the pitch just a few minutes into his debut game in charge of the club.

    Chaos!

  19. CLOSE!published at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Swindon 0-0 Colchester

Swindon almost take the lead against Danny Cowley's Colchester!

Udoka Godwin-Malife sends Tyrese Shade into space and the forward cuts the ball back for Jake Cain but he sends his shot over the bar.

A let off for Colchester in Cowley's first game in charge of the strugglers.

  20. goal

GOAL: Bradford City 0-1 Crawley Townpublished at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 6 January

    Danilo Orsi (12 mins)

Crawley Town's Danilo Orsi heads home from close range to score his 13th goal in all competitions this season.

Adam Campbell whipped the ball into the mixer and Orsi made no mistake and guided it home.
