Former Wolves & Norwich winger on the Football Daily podcast

They do [need a boost]. When all the points deduction was going round Everton were picking up great form.

They need to get going again because they are in the relegation zone. They were in this siutuation last year and don't want to be in it again. They have the players. They all work hard and there is a real togetherness.

They have enough but they need to get it started soon. It will be a tough, tough ask against Spurs.

For me, it just shows the team spirt of the group at the moment.

When Maupay did the celebration the crowd erupted and the players fed off that. You could tell that the players were desperate to get one over on him.

There is a real togetherness within the squad and that comes down to the manager. The manager has been a real breath of fresh air.

    Everton

Everton manager Sean Dyche speaking to TNT Sports on the transfer window: "There wasn't much in [rumours]. There was a lot of talk about nothing. We were pretty confident about that. We're working with a skinny squad and we are stretched so it was important to keep players.

"It's been a tough run on paper physically with the injuries we've had. The mentality is certainly there, we've looked strong defensively and we need to add to that by attacking better and having a more clinical edge.

On Idrissa Gueye's return: "He's done well, has come back and had one day's training. We're looking forward to him being back and he's gone straight into the team because we are stretched.

"There is constant belief in the fact we are creating chances. We have to rely on each other and when those chances come we have to take them.

"Tottenham are a good outfit. We have to go and perform again today."

"Yeah I think we're better placed now than we were a month ago. We've got some bodies back and the team has had a consistent run of form. Today will be a tough game no doubt but we have to be at our best.

He's a national hero which he showed again last night. I sincerly hope he goes all the way and we'll have to go without him in the meantime."
