  1. GREAT SAVEpublished at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

    Tottenham 0-0 Brighton

A chaotic 4-2 last time these two sides met, will we get another one of those today?

    Brighton almost threaten it immediately!

Danny Welbeck does brilliantly, driving forward straight from the whistle and curling a left-footed shot which Vicario saves really well.

    Strap in, folks.

  2. Postpublished at 15:02 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

    Wolves 0-0 Brentford

Brentford are straight on the attack with Ivan Toney's ball into the box causing problems. Wolves eventually scramble clear, but there's a VAR check for a possible handball inside the box, but after a brief wait the decision not to award a penalty stands.

  3. 'Kompany will be desperate to do his old club a favour'published at 15:01 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

    Liverpool 0-0 Burnley

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on Final Score

Today is going to be a difficult one for Burnley.

I think the saving grace is that Vincent Kompany's job is safe. His role is very much a project there and I think he could take them down and back up again, and they will have a second bite of the cherry with more experience next time around.

Kompany will be desperate to do his old employers a favour today and pull off the shock of the afternoon.

Liverpool are now in second place and they'll want to be top at the end of today.

No one fancies Burnley today but can they get a win?

  7. 'City game in March will show if Liverpool can sustain challenge'published at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

    Liverpool v Burnley (15:00 GMT)

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on Final Score

Apart from last weekend at the Emirates, Liverpool have been very good this season, especially at home where they are unbeaten.

The game we all have to look forward to is when they welcome Man City to Anfield on 10th March, one that is really going to show if they can hold their hand and challenge until the end of the season.

  8. 'It's difficult to destroy our game'published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

    FT: Man City 2-0 Everton

    Manchester City

Manchester City goalscorer Erling Haaland speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Yeah it’s good feeling and even better to win.

"We always work hard as a team, so a fantastic performance, it was a difficult game and good win. A lot of games people will try and destroy our game, but we are a good team so it is difficult to destroy our game. A good win.

"We’ve been on good run, I think that’s 10 in row in all competitions. We're doing quite well. It’s is a good thing."

On whether he is 100% fit: "Yes."

Luton Town v Sheffield United (15:00 GMT)

Luton are unbeaten in their past four home league games against Sheffield United (W1, D3).

The Hatters won 2-1 the last time they hosted the Blades in a top-flight fixture 32 years ago.

Sheffield United could lose both league meetings against Luton in a season for the first time since 1976-77.

  10. 'You can't concede that many goals and expect to stay up'published at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Luton Town v Sheffield United (15:00 GMT)

    Anita Asante
Former England defender on Football Focus

I think Sheffield United are already looking at planning for next season down in the Championship. You cannot concede as many goals as they have in the manner that they have and expect to stay up.

It is strange because you always think of Sheffield United as a robust and hard to beat side, a team that fights for every last ball, but that hasn't really come to fruition this season.

So, Liverpool start this game second after being bumped off the top by Manchester City following their win over Everton. Jurgen Klopp's side play two games before City are next in Premier League action.

If they beat Burnley and then Brentford next Saturday at 12:30 GMT, Liverpool will be five points clear by the time City kick-off against Chelsea at 17:30 next Saturday.

  12. 'Good to see Luton finding their feet at this level'published at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Luton Town v Sheffield United (15:00 GMT)

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on Football Focus

For the first couple of months of the season Luton seemed a little bit starstruck and overawed by the Premier League, but it is good to see them finding their feet in recent months, starting to feel at home and find their identity.

A lot of their lads hadn't played at this level before so they had to adjust and not be scared about facing people they had only seen play on tv for a long time.

You can't have any passengers in your side when you don't have that individual talent that other teams do, and it is about every man working hard for the team.

  13. Head-to-head statspublished at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

    Liverpool v Burnley (15:00 GMT)

Liverpool have won eight of the past 10 Premier League meetings with Burnley, including each of the last four without conceding.

Burnley's 1-0 victory at Anfield in January 2021 was their first at the stadium since 1973.

That victory also ended Liverpool's 68-game unbeaten home league run.

The Clarets have scored the opening goal in four of their six most recent visits to Anfield.

  14. 'The more you score the more confidence you gain'published at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Luton Town v Sheffield United (15:00 GMT)

    Anita Asante
Former England defender on Football Focus

Luton being out of the drop zone at the moment will give the players an extra bit of confidence to try things and be more daring going forward, getting more numbers up the pitch. It gives you that bit of breathing space.

Then the more you score the more confidence you gain as a team. If you keep doing those things game in and game out it just keeps building and building.

  15. 'We have been in this position so many times'published at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

    FT: Man City 2-0 Everton

    Manchester City

Manchester City defender John Stones speaking to TNT Sports: "We have had tough games against Everton home and away so to get the win in the fashion we did with the clean sheet is really pleasing especially after the first half which was so difficult for us to find spaces and create chances.

"We are used to playing against a low block and we have been in this position so many times and patience is a massive thing for us, to not get frustrated and trust in our game plan. We changed a few things at half time which helped massively and opened up the game.

"Kyle Walker and the guys that came on as well had a big impact as well. Our mentality has never changed. We go into games wanting a clean sheet and sometimes it is our own fault and in football you also can’t stop certain things.

"Now I’m back I’m happy and we can go on a nice little run. In previous seasons this period we have coped well in all competitions that we are in. Each game is a final for us and hopefully we are one step closer to our goal."

Can people stop writing Villa off? Only two wins off City and still to play them again. Thrash United tomorrow and the mighty Villa will be above Arsenal.

    Josh, disgruntled Villa fan.

Tunde: League is not done & dusted yet this season. City’s just 1 pt ahead of Liverpool, 3 off Arsenal & 6pt off Aston Villa. All these teams (TOTTENHAM) have occupied the top spot at one point or the other this season. Anyone of the teams can win - but have to go the hard way

People saying the title race is down to just three teams when there’s still 15 games to go seem to forget that the champions last year were further from the title with eight games to go than fifth place is now…

This is only the second time this season Liverpool have played at home at 3pm in the Premier League. On the previous occasion they defeated Bournemouth 3-1 on 19 August - the first home game of the campaign.

In his programme notes, Jurgen Klopp says it was "not our day" when the Reds lost at Arsenal last time out. "This is not an excuse," he adds.

"Burnley will not care for our needs of course. They have their own targets to achieve and helping Liverpool get back on their feet is certainly not one of them."

Couple of bits of fitness news I picked up when carrying out the pre-match manager interviews.

Teden Mengi is on the Luton bench following an ankle issue. I don't think he'll get on this afternoon unless absolutely necessary after I overheard him being bantered by Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu heading into the dressing room about doing the bleep test later.

No such light relief for Sheffield United as Chris Wilder told me a tight hamstring has ruled Ben Brereton Díaz out of travelling down with the squad.

  19. Will Maupay score again?published at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Neal Maupay has scored in all five league and cup appearances in 2024, the longest run of his career in England.

It equals the combined number of goals he managed across 64 games in 2022 and 2023.

    Tottenham v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

Tottenham have won six of their past seven home league games against Brighton, the exception being a 1-0 defeat in April 2022.

The Seagulls are looking to win back-to-back league matches against Spurs for the first time.

Roberto De Zerbi's side won 4-2 at the Amex Stadium in December - the first time they had scored four or more goals against Tottenham in any competition.
