    Man City 2-0 Everton

Beto is offside again when Lewis Dobbin pokes it through to him. He finds the net but it's immediately ruled out and there's no complaints.

People saying the title is settled. City had a bad patch before Christmas and other teams had the chance to be well clear by now. Arsenal blew the chance, Liverpool the same. City have dropped 17 points this year, that's 3 more than they dropped in the centurion season and we are only half way through this. Don't blame city when others have just dropped more points.

The top 4 now is how the season will end. You heard it here first...

The title will be "settled" after the Liverpool/City game. Bizarre people writing off Liverpool after a loss that saw them remain top.

    Erling Haaland (85 mins)

    Peak Erling Haaland.

Kevin de Bruyne slides it through to Haaland as City break down the middle.

He's one-on-one with Jarrad Branthwaite, shrugs him off easily and coolly places it past Jordan Pickford and into the corner.

    Two for the Norway international.

Paul and Bager's point is exactly why I saw the title as settled following Liverpool's loss last weekend.

Alisson's absence is a big blow for Liverpool who are still without Mo Salah because of a hamstring issue. Back-up keeper Caoimhin Kelleher kept a clean sheet on his last Premier League appearance - a 2-0 win at Sheffield United on 6 December and has played a key role in Liverpool's run to the Carabao Cup final.

Andy Robertson's first Premier League start since 8 October is a huge positive as is the return of Wataru Endo to the midfield after playing for Japan at the Asian Cup.

Endo turned 31 on Friday. Will he celebrate his birthday with three points?

Dwight McNeil has space on the edge of the box and players either side in support but he tries a shot which is blocked. Everton lose the ball as a result.

Paul: What chance has anyone else got when, having played badly, you can just bring on De Bruyne?

It’s the hope that really kills me. As if the Man City machine might actually mess up. I should know better by now.

People texting in having a go at Sean Dyche's tactics should know that Everton have created the third most chances at goal without scoring in the top 5 European leagues this season without scoring, behind only Bayern and Barca. We just don't have enough quality to convert. He doesn't set out to play 'negative' football, this is just 'horses for courses' today, as every point helps against the drop.

    Erling Haaland (71 mins)

He's had to wait a few games but Erling Haaland has delivered when Manchester City needed him to.

A corner comes in from the right, it falls to Haaland at the back post and he smashes it first-time past Jordan Pickford.
