    Man City 0-0 Everton

Jordan Pickford comes sprinting off his line to beat Matheus Nunes to the ball right on the edge of the box.

It looked like Nunes pulled away at the last minute. He might have got there!

Everton had a decent break through Dwight McNeil at the other end just before.

Man City need to move the ball quicker and have a bit of urgency. Everton are in that low block and are having a nibble when they can.

You can see why Pep Guardiola wanted City to get it across to Jeremy Doku. He's getting plenty of joy down the left-hand side.

Another dangerous pull-back finds Matheus Nunes, whose low cross is cleared.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has 50 premier league goals to his name and collectively everyone in this chat has....none!

    Lewis

Some laughable comments about Man City. Saying they are boring to watch, suggesting they cash in on Haaland... They've been the most dominant and entertaining team in England for a decade.

    Jason, Everton supporter

Only a few more minutes until the 'everton are playing anti football' messages. These are usually sent from fans of the so called bigger clubs perplexed at why a technically inferior team haven't rolled over for them

    Man City 0-0 Everton

Crucial interception by James Tarkowski, who is applauded by Jordan Pickford.

Phil Foden slides it through to Matheus Nunes. He sees Erling Haaland and tries to slip it to him in the six-yard area but can't get past the Everton skipper.

  7. Haaland's wait goes onpublished at 13:02 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

    Man City 0-0 Everton

    Chris Bevan

That missed header means Erling Haaland has now had 17 efforts and 375 minutes since his last Premier League goal, which are both his longest runs without one in the competition.

Everton have done an excellent job so far to limit his opportunities, and any for his Manchester City team-mates too.

    Man City 0-0 Everton

This is a chance. Jeremy Doku is starting to burst into life and he beats two players on the left before chipping it into the box.

Erling Haaland is stretching as he heads it miles over but Phil Foden was coming in at the back post in a good position. He's fuming!

Ooh. A mistake from Ben Godfrey and Jeremy Doku gets in behind on the left. Jarrad Branthwaite has to make a crucial interception near the goalline.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ruben Dias then have a scuffle by the touchline which gets the crowd a little pumped.

Theo: City without KDB is like a car without an engine… there’s no tempo to our play and it’s tentative and cautious. Very odd tactics from Pep here

Mark Anderson is Calvert-Lewin rated highly...? I must have missed that.

    Man City 0-0 Everton

Everton manage to break through City's midfield. Jack Harrison has it on the left and there's space in front of Ashley Young.

But the throughball won't reach him, with Ruben Dias there to intercept.

City want to keep control because they've been vulnerable to the counter attack lately. You can feel the anxiety in the stadium creep in, they want to see goals.

  14. 'Give it to Doku'published at 12:52 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

    Man City 0-0 Everton

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

When Manchester City do get past their press, Everton retreat to the kind of compact shape we've seen so often from Sean Dyche down the years - nine outfield players in their own area or just outside it, leaving Pep Guardiola's side no space to play into.

City need to be quicker on the ball in the final third and Pep knows it, he's been urging them to get the ball wide to Jeremy Doku, which is one of the few areas where Everton have left some space.

These analysts and commentators describing City as an immortal team forgot one thing..City are still technically trailing.. Liverpool are set to welcome back Mo Salah next week (and we know what that means), Arsenal hasn't even hit top gear yet and Spurs are lurking. So give us a break, City knows they have a competition in their hands this season.

    Mamadou Bah.

Am I the only one who isn't a fan of City's constant possession with nothing more interesting than a 9 yard pass? It's tap tap tap, cut back nod it in. Efficient? Yes. Entertaining? No.

  20. Everton pressing highpublished at 12:48 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

    Man City 0-0 Everton

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

These Manchester City errors are happening because Everton are pressing high, with plenty of players in the City half when the home side look to build from the back. They've had no time to settle on the ball yet... and are yet to have a single effort at goal.
