Former Brighton striker on Football Focus

When you see Phil Foden hitting hat-tricks and Kevin de Bruyne pulling the strings in midfield, Man City only really need to get one man back fit and firing and it looks like it could be all over.

Once Erling Haaland finds the back of the net they'll be cooking won't they?

But one surprising fact is that they have scored 39 goals since Haaland's last competitive goal, so even without him they have dealt really well and found ways to score.

  16. 50th start for Haalandpublished at 12:26 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Manchester City v Everton (12:30 GMT)

Erling Haaland is making his 50th start in the Premier League for Manchester City.

He already has more goals in his first 49 starts than any other player (49), though he's without a goal in his last three in the competition.

Man City v Everton (12:30 GMT)

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on Football Focus

This is the business time of the season, and this is what Man City do. They do what they need to do to stay in the race and I don't think the other clubs have done enough to capitalise on the little patch of bad form that City had pre-Christmas.

Man City have run this course before, they know what it takes, and I just feel as though they are just starting to click into gear, and for me they will still be Premier League champions come the end of the season.

Former goalkeeper David James says Phil Foden, Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne will be the key to Manchester City defending their Premier League title this season.

"I still think it is between City and Liverpool ," said James on the We're Not Really Here podcast.

"I always felt Liverpool were going to drop points and I think City still will too.

"The emotional balance that Arsenal have will be their downfall because their ability to control it seems a bit loose. I don't think they're in the race anyway, but it will keep them out of it.

"Liverpool will do what they've done very well all season, but you look at City and everything is looking right. The only issue they'll have is if they believe the hype themselves and think they'll have a great end without having to earn it.

"They just have to carry on."

I’d like to see any goal scored from outside of the penalty area being awarded with two goals and if a goal is scored from your own half it’s worth three.

    Dan J

New law I'd introduce? Reverse penalties for diving. Think about it. The deterrent would be instant, and it'd hardly ever have to be assessed/given.
