  1. CHANCE!published at 45+2 mins

    Brentford 0-1 Liverpool

    Liverpool should be 2-0 up!

They break from a Brentford long throw with Luis Diaz surging down the left.

He cuts the ball back but it takes a deflection and the bobble catches Mohamed Salah by surprise.

The ball bounces off his shin when a clean contact would surely have put the away side two goals to the good.

  2. INJURY TIMEpublished at 45+1 mins

    Brentford 0-1 Liverpool

We're into eight added minutes at the end of the first half and Brentford have a free-kick in a good position on the left.

Curtis injured and now Jota. Liverpool injuries the worst of those chasing this league. If Jota didn't have this bad luck I tell you now, he'd be one of the best players in the world.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 45 mins

    Brentford 0-1 Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp is exasperated on the touchline as a late challenge from Sergio Reguilon catches Conor Bradley.

It draws the first yellow card of the game and, thankfully for Liverpool, Bradley is OK to carry on.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 44 mins

    Brentford 0-1 Liverpool

A worrying sight for Liverpool and their supporters as Diogo Jota is carried off the pitch on a stretcher.

Mohamed Salah is a pretty good replacement but the injury concerns just keep coming for Jurgen Klopp.

    Brentford 0-1 Liverpool

More bad news for Liverpool. Diogo Jota is up and then quickly back down again.

Referee Michael Oliver calls for the stretcher. A second enforced change of the first half for the visitors.

Mohamed Salah is preparing to come on, much earlier than he might have expected.

Amir: Nunez was cool as a cucumber. What a cheeky chip.

Dan: The "Nunez is a flop" crew are quiet yet again.

Teelaw: That was a beautiful assist from Jota and an audacious finish from Nunez.

    Brentford 0-1 Liverpool

More concerns for Liverpool now as Diogo Jota goes down after being flattened by a combined of team-mate Alexis Mac Allister and Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard.

Liverpool fans will be hoping against hope that this is nothing serious and that he can carry on.

There has been a couple of brilliant things to talk about in this goal. Yes, Brentford are trying to work something but Van Dijk just clears it. The header from Diogo Jota is incredible.

This [Nunez] is a man we talk about missing chances, talk about his composure. That is a brilliant, brilliant goal. That's going to make him feel good.

  10. 'Nunez does really well'published at 13:08 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Brentford 0-1 Liverpool

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Australia keeper on Sky Sports

Virgil Van Dijk just lumps it forward and Diogo Jota does really well to win the header and he also sees Darwin Nunez's run.

Nunez does really well, a good finish.

    Brentford 0-1 Liverpool

Brentford appeal for a penalty as Conor Bradley and Meal Maupay jump for the ball on the edge of the box.

Nothing doing, though. Checked and quickly cleared by VAR.

GOAL - Brentford 0-1 Liverpoolpublished at 35 mins

    Darwin Nunez

    What a finish!

Liverpool clear from a Brentford free-kick and Diogo Jota does superbly to hold off the defender and head the ball into the path of Darwin Nunez.

He has the whole Brentford half to himself, bursts through and produces an outrageous chip over Mark Flekken to give Jurgen Klopp's side the lead.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 33 mins

    Brentford 0-0 Liverpool

Curtis Jones isn't going to be able to continue and Ryan Gravenberch is on to replace him.

Another injury blow for Liverpool at a crucial stage of the season.

  14. 'Jones looks in a lot of discomfort'published at 13:03 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Brentford 0-0 Liverpool

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Australia keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

It seems like maybe a grazing of the boot down the side of Curtis Jones' leg and ankle.

Jones looks in a lot of discomfort.

Re. Alex at 12.52. What absolute nonsense. Leagues are won on results against the bottom half. Typically big teams are content with draws when they play one another.

He's on his feet now but doesn't look particularly comfortable.

Good counter-attack from Brentford after Curtis Jones is dispossessed.

The move ends with Christian Norgaard shooting just wide but the real concern for Liverpool is that Jones is still down and he looks in real pain.

Ivan Toney tries his luck from 25 yards out but doesn't get hold of the shot at all.

    It bobbles harmlessly wide.

    Brentford 0-0 Liverpool

Clever ball over the top from Andy Robertson for Luis Diaz but the Liverpool winger can't bring it under control on his chest.

Moments later, Diogo Jota picks up the ball on halfway and drives towards the Brentford area.

He gets there before he is eventually crowded out and the loose ball won't fall for Diaz.

    Brentford 0-0 Liverpool

Brentford shift a free-kick from just inside the Liverpool half before putting a long ball forward towards Ben Mee.

There are red and white shirts waiting in the middle but the pass is too long for Mee and he can only glance it behind for a goal kick.
