Manchester City have their first shot on target as we approach the 20th minute, but Phil Foden's effort is a comfortable save for Neto.

Manchester United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, speaking to BBC Sport, on how a mistake allowed Fulham to score their winner: "It was a throw-in [for Fulham] in the corner, we had them under pressure and we have one player in the wrong position.

"As a team we should manage that and make sure everyone is in the right position. We let them escape and it is avoidable.

"The team showed big character to fight back, we deserved the equaliser and went for the win - we showed big personality and character. It was that mistake. Before that we went for the win and we should have taken our opportunities.

On whether the game was too open: "We struggled with their influence and their impact on our left side. But we reacted well and how to deal with it, how to step up from the back and once we had that we got more from the game and took control to create the chances.

On the impact of injuries to Luke Shaw and Rasmus Hojlund: "With the squad we had today we should have won this game. Both halves were slow starts and we should be ready from the first whistle.

"That's a point of criticism but the team showed big character in both halves."

I fear this may be a dangerous revelation but I feel like I'm one of very few people who doesn't play fantasy football. The team I support gives me enough stress every weekend, I don't need to add to it.

Manchester City have a moment in defence as a lack of communication sees Ruben Dias back into Ederson as the goalkeeper comes out to claim a delivery from a free-kick.

It causes Ederson to fumble and drop the ball, but he's able to grab it before any Bournemouth player can pounce.

Adam Smith is lucky to get away with a hefty challenge without a booking as he slides in on Matheus Nunes, wiping him out.

Bournemouth are certainly not adopting a cautious approach against Manchester City and are pressing very high. It is working for them so far.

Bournemouth go straight down the other end and force a decent save out of Ederson as the Manchester City goalkeeper tips over Milos Kerkez's well-struck effort.

The hosts have the first corner of the game but it is an easy catch for Ederson.

The first time ball from Phil Foden was exquisite, even on his right foot you expect him to hit the target - a let off for Bournemouth.

Manchester City bypass midfield by going long and Phil Foden flicks a brilliant ball to Erling Haaland. The striker races towards goal and normally you'd back him to score but he shoots perhaps a bit too early and fires wide.

All pretty even at the moment with Manchester City not yet able to take control of the midfield battle.

Dominic Solanke has been outstanding this season.

Bournemouth have approached these opening minutes by putting City under pressure, these Man City players have the quality to handle the ball in tight positions so Bournemouth need to put some challenges in on them.

Any other side and you'd have your heart in your mouth as Manchester City play it a bit risking trying to play it out of the back.

However, Nathan Ake is coolness personified as he passes his way out of danger.

Fulham

Fulham manager Marco Silva, speaking to BBC Match of the Day, about his team's first Premier League away win of the season: "It is a big win for us. For sure, a great feeling for our fans, who were loud from the first to the last whistle.

"The players deserved it, clearly the best team won the game.

"We were the team which played better, created more chances and had more control of the game.

"It is a fantastic feeling for us to come here and win against a side in a good run of form. We knew we would have to play at a high level and that's what we did.

"They had two or three moments as well, they are a quality team but we controlled it very well. I'm pleased how we played at the start of the second half.

"After we scored we knew there would be a reaction. We tried to play offside for their goal but there was not the synchronisation we wanted and as they pushed, we showed the mentality which we had missed in other away games. It was a great counter and a great finish.

"The players deserve great credit because they understood the plan and executed the plan. It was an open game, we don't change away or at home. This is our way."

A lovely reverse ball by Mateo Kovacic almost pays off as Erling Haaland looks to break clear of the defence, but the Bournemouth defence reads the danger well.
