Fulham have made a positive start, moving the ball quickly and vertically through the lines.

Former United midfielder Andreas Pereira collects the ball about 20 yards out and has time to shoot. Straight at Andre Onana.

A second corner in quick succession for Brighton, headed away by Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Everton will hope Calvert-Lewin is more effective in the other box today, than he has been in recent games.

Sir Dave Brailsford had a chat with Rasmus Hojlund as the pair stood at the bottom of the top of the stairs that lead out into the directors' box.

Hojlund turned right and headed up to the back row, where the players are sat, amongst them Luke Shaw and Tom Heaton. Brailsford went left, which is where the directors' seats are reserved.

There was a big cheer for Oliver Glasner as the new Crystal Palace manager took his place in the dugout.

It is almost the dream start for Glasner as a poor back pass from a Burnley player bounces just wide of his own goal with James Trafford caught out.

I can't understand the continuing reliance on Man Utd players who don't consistently perform, and why Ten Hag doesn't rotate these players when they're below par? Just 'giving them time' to find their scoring boots again costs us valuable points. They're paid very well to be able to adapt quickly, in any given situation! I say get the fresher kids in when the seasoned guys are misfiring, Onana included!

Brighton midfielder Simon Adingra, who won the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast and was named young player of the tournament, is given a special welcome back and ovation by the home crowd.

Adingra beams as he wears his winners' medal around his neck.

Roberto De Zerbi has told his Brighton team to be prepared to defend set-pieces well today. His team selection is reflective of that with Igor, Dunk and Van Hecke offering physicality and aerial ability.

It’s an interesting clash of styles. Brighton will want to be pretty, whereas Everton will hope a more pragmatic approach prevails.

I am told Sir Jim Ratcliffe is not going to be at Old Trafford this afternoon.

Ineos will be represented by head of sport Sir Dave Brailsford, who will be keeping a close eye on day-to-day operations at Manchester United.

Brailsford, best known to a wider audience for having led the revival of British cycling, is now on the football club board.

I find this infatuation by United to get Ashworth on board is a little bemusing. The players he's signed aren't hidden gems or unknowns. He's also signed some howlers. The South American lads are based on Brighton's scouting network. The others are known in world football. I may be selling Ashworth short here, but I don't see the fuss. I agree he's respected in what he does, so it's going to be interesting to see how much power he will have at United.

I think Nuno Espirito is viewed as a bit of a negative manager in his previous roles, going in and the team scoring freely is a big deal.

They look like they have enough to stay up, but they do have a point deduction hanging over them.

  15. 'There's a few things there where you can see he can help'published at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

Aston Villa v Nottingham Forest (15.00 GMT)

On the latest episode of the Shut Up And Show More Football podcast, BBC Radio Nottingham's Colin Fray spoke about why Nottingham Forest are working with former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg, who has been appointed as an analyst by the club.

Fray said: "I think the reason for him being there is to help and advise the more senior figures at the club as to why a decision may have been given, and at what time and for what incidents you decide to make complaints or just say 'we'll let it go' - from somebody who has been there, to be able to advise as to what battles are worth fighting really.

"But also, I guess, to advise Nuno [Espirito Santo] for post-match interviews as to how to maybe handle questions that may arise. He may be one of the first figures that Nuno goes to post-match because Nuno may be thinking about a controversial incident, he might go to Clattenburg who says 'I wouldn't worry about it too much', and therefore he starts to play it down in the media immediately and it doesn't become an issue."

  16. Villa's injury crisispublished at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

Aston Villa v Nottingham Forest (15.00 GMT)

Aston Villa's injury list is starting to resemble that of a World War One field hospital.

Six senior players are missing, including key men Ezri Konsa and Boubacar Kamara. Diego Carlos and Jhon Duran are also absent today, while Tyrone Mings and Emiliano Buendia have missed the majority of this season.

Asked if he had analysed why Villa's injury list is so long, manager Unai Emery said on Friday: "Really not. I always accept the injured moment with some players, but it is hard with ACL injuries to players we have had this season.

"I think in some circumstances it can happen, players are always at risk of getting injured, but an ACL is maybe the most difficult injury for players."

You sign up to a style of play, you sign up to an identity and it is great to do. It's brilliant to win the Championship and play such wonderful football. It's so difficult to do it in the Premier League when you play against teams who can pick you off like they are.

It's a steep learning curve and you just hope that the young players who are in there aren't suffering psychologically from this because they need to come back and come again.

  18. Ramsey blow for Burnleypublished at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

Crystal Palace v Burnley (15.00 GMT)

Another blow for Burnley's fight against relegation this week, as midfielder Aaron Ramsey was ruled out of the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Ramsey was carried off on a stretcher in the Clarets' 5-0 Premier League defeat by Arsenal on Saturday.

The 21-year-old was making just his fifth Premier League start for Burnley since arriving from Aston Villa for a fee in excess of £12m in August 2023.

"Unfortunately for us he was as bad as we thought, definitely his season is over," said Burnley manager Vincent Kompany.

"Maybe for the larger part of this year he won't feature. I don't want to go into specifics, but the main thing is he'll recover fully.

"It's a blow for him but it's part of a career.

"We will support him the best we can, he'll be an important player for us in the future. It's just unfortunate it's come at the time he's coming through."

BBC Final Score at Selhurst Park

There’s a warm glow over Selhurst Park this afternoon, the sun is shining - and there is an obvious positivity in the air. Roy Hodgson has moved on and Oliver Glasner is in the dugout having watched Monday’s 1-1 draw with Everton from the stands.

Palace fans Kevin, Ryan and Jeremy were telling me how exciting it is to have a manager in who talks about attacking football. Glasner was asked about his philosophy this week and replied “the reason we all play football is to score goals and celebrate”.

Ryan told me he was "a little cautious" still aware that Palace aren’t clear of relegation danger, but excited about the future with a progressive boss.

Father and son Ben and Stuart have been impressed with Glasner’s first week in charge. They told me they can’t wait to see what an attacking manager could do once all of Palace’s injured players are back fit again.

It has needed a freshen up, a much more fluid system when they want to sign somebody. From the analyst to the recruitment, director of football, owners.

Everything takes far too long - it’s so disjointed. It has been difficult for them in the transfer market and they are on catch up as well to the other clubs.

There will be players that will be surplus, good young players keep coming through at Manchester United but it's a tough one to come into when the team aren't going so well.

There is so much that needs doing.
