    On Everton's 10 point deduction...

It is very individual and it will effect some players more than others.

Not just Everton, everyone wants to know what is happening moving forward. If anything else does happen there is that 10 point buffer which could keep them in the Premier League.

The form has not been good, but if you was an Everton fan the Crystal Palace game was very winnable - there has been a lack of confidence and a lack of goals.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin this season was going to be key if he was fit, I think the final third has been there problem not creating enough opportunities which Sean Dyche needs to get on top of.

On Jarrad Branthwaite's loan to PSV...

That loan spell gave him a lot of confidence and he seems to have developed.

Branthwaite is honing his game and playing every game for Everton against the best forwards in the world - he is developing so much in this Everton team he has a very bright future.

    Everton

Everton boss Sean Dyche on today's trip to Brighton:

"We are searching for the details to be right - it's been so near yet so far. The general performances have been OK - we haven't won in games but we've been in them.

"We are just trying to iron the creases out because we've done a lot of good but now we've got to turn that into wins.

"We gave a very good performance tactically here against Brighton last season [Everton won 5-1] but this is a different game. We will see what they bring but we have to impress our own game on them too."

On the wait for the decision on Everton's appeal against a 10-point deduction for financial rule breaches: "Every game that goes by, we are waiting for a decision and the quicker it comes, the more it is helpful to everyone."

  4. Can the Toffees bounce back?published at 14:15 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

    Brighton v Everton (15:00 GMT)

    Chris Wise
Final Score commentator at the Amex Stadium

Everton’s 5-1 win here last season was probably the most impressive performance of Sean Dyche’s time in charge of the club.

It was a tactical masterpiece, and moved Everton out of the relegation zone that day. They don’t start the afternoon in the bottom three today, but there’s very little keeping them out of it right now.

Obviously the outcome of the club’s appeal against their points deduction might change everything, and Dyche says he’s expecting to hear more on that "by the end of the month".

The picture should become clearer for Everton soon.

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo talking to Premier League Productions: "Nuno Tavares is injured so we had to make a decision. He was playing good and it is unfortunate that the injury came at a good moment for him and team but Moussa [Niakhate] is ready to do the job.

"Football matches are never the same, they don't repeat themselves so today is going to be a new one."

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery talking to Premier League Productions: "We are very focussed. What we did in Fulham we have to do here, while connecting with our support, and be consistent like we are more or less at home. We have to be clinical. Nottingham Forest will compete very well. We have to demanding and expect a lot because Forest can be good in the transition. They are really dangerous for us.

"They have a different coach to the defeat away. It was very difficult there and we lost and it will be very difficult here but we'll try and win.

"I don't think there's a lot of difference between Forest under Steve Cooper and Nuno Espirito Santo but he's a very good tactical coach and has experience of doing well in England. It is a very good challenge for him. They played very well against West Ham last weekend and we have to respect them."

  8. Forson's first Premier League startpublished at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

    Man Utd v Fulham (15:00GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

A massive call from Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, who brings 19-year-old attacking player Omari Forson in for his debut in the absence of Rasmus Hojlund rather than bring £80m Antony back into his starting line-up.

The young Londoner was name checked by Ten Hag in his press conference yesterday and has caught the eye in training.

It is still a big call though.

Forson only made his first team bow as a late substitute in the FA Cup third round tie at League One Wigan in January.

  13. Stat attackpublished at 13:58 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

    Crystal Palace v Burnley (15.00)

    • Burnley's total of six Premier League wins versus Palace is their highest tally against any side other than Everton (7).
    • Crystal Palace's tally of 25 points is their second lowest after 25 matches of a Premier League campaign since returning to the top flight in 2013. They had 19 points at this stage in 2016-17 but won seven of their remaining 13 league fixtures under Sam Allardyce to finish 14th.
    • It's 14 Premier League matches without a clean sheet for Palace since a 2-0 win at Burnley on 4 November.
    • Oliver Glasner is attempting to become only the second Palace manager to win his first Premier League game in charge, emulating Alan Pardew against Tottenham in January 2015.
    • Burnley have 13 points after 25 matches. The fewest points a team has had at this stage of a Premier League season and avoided relegation is 17 by West Brom (2004-05) and Leicester (2014-15).
    • Their tally of 18 league defeats this season is already one more than when they were last relegated from the top flight in 2021-22.
    • Burnley have conceded 55 Premier League goals, their most after 25 fixtures of a season since letting in 56 in the second tier in 1932-33.

It is an exciting prospect having a manager who has won the Europa League and has got teams into the Champions League.

It needs time for the formation Oliver Glasner wants with three at the back, the fans will have to be patient - it is about having time.

It is not an easy game [against Burnley] there isn't a guaranteed three points. Burnley also need the points it's a tough one for Glasner to have as his first game.

Crystal Palace v Burnley (15:00 GMT)

The fans wanted a change and a different brand of football, it's similar to the West Ham situation. I thought Roy Hodgson did an excellent job at Palace and he wouldn't of wanted it to end like it did.

Palace still have work to do to stay in the Premier League, it is not easy to go from a pragmatic style to a flamboyant style which the Palace fans demand.

  16. 'I am not David Copperfield'published at 13:52 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

Crystal Palace v Burnley (15.00 GMT)

New Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has told the club's fans he is not a "magician".

The Austrian, 49, replaced Roy Hodgson as Palace boss on Monday and watched from the stands as the Eagles drew 1-1 at Everton that evening.

Palace are now 15th in the Premier League - five points above the relegation zone - after 10 defeats in their past 17 league games.

"I'm no magician, I am not David Copperfield," said Glasner. "It's important we work together to reach our vision."

The most frustrating thing is that his [Rasmus Hojlund’s] performance against Luton was brilliant. I think it was one of the best in his career. He had the most touches in his career and completed the most passes.

For Manchester United that connection between the team and the centre forward has been a bit of a problem this season and it was starting to come.

  20. Injuries 'frustrating' for Unitedpublished at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February

Man Utd v Fulham (15:00 GMT)

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's not ideal just for him [Rasmus Hojlund] individually as a player, when they've got him up to speed, they've got him in the form he's now in. The youngest player to score in six consecutive games in the Premier League. It's a wonderful stat.

I’m sure he wanted to continue, his manager would have as well and it’s a frustrating time.

It’s also frustrating they've lost Lisandro Martinez in recent weeks, they've lost Luke Shaw as well - two big players defensively. They're having to cope with different situations.
