There’s a brilliant home crowd here at Cappielow, with an impressive travelling support too. Nothing of magnitude for either side to cheer about yet though. Morton’s Robbie Muirhead and Aidan Fitzpatrick for Thistle with the best of the action on goal so far, but neither able to find the back of the net.

Arbroath’s injury situation has been well documented and it hasn't been helped with new signing Zak Delaney, the defender on loan from Caley Thistle, being replaced just 12 minutes into his debut after picking up a knock.

As whistle's go elsewhere, there's a minute's silence at Stark's Park for former Raith Rovers chairman Bill Clark, who has passed away.

And that Edinburgh City v Falkirk game, of course, is a delayed kick-off.

  16. New faces galorepublished at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

There's a few new faces around in the Championship today.

Midfielder Kyle Turner makes his debut for injury-hit Raith Rovers on loan from Ross County.

Rovers are missing Daniel O'Reilly as the defender has moved to Partick Thistle, for whom he starts on the bench.

Sean Welsh makes his debut for Queen's Park after leaving second-tier rivals Caley Thistle.

Arbroath, who only had 11 fit players last weekend, have added Zak Delaney from Inverness Caledonian Thistle and the left-back comes straight into the team.

Midfielder Adam Mackinnon, on loan from Ross County, former Drogheda United striker Kyle Robinson and goalkeeper Tom Welsh, who is on a seven-day loan from Dundee after an injury to Derek Gaston, are on the bench.

  17. City destined for another hiding?published at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    Scottish League 1

You would imagine it should be a foregone conclusion at Meadowbank given Edinburgh City are three points adrift at the foot of the third-tier table after six straight defeats, lost several first-team players following financial troubles and host a Falkirk side who lead by 11 points, are unbeaten in 25 games and are seeking a seventh consecutive win.

Edinburgh have conceded at least three goals in each of their seven games since a 2-1 defeat away to today's visitors.

Game of the day is in Hamilton, where second-top Academical host a Cove Rangers side who sit eight places below them in third.

    • Edinburgh City v Falkirk (15:30)
    • Hamilton Academical v Cove Rangers
    • Kelty Hearts v Annan Athletic
    • Montrose v Stirling Albion

  18. Will Stenny equal Rangers' run?published at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    Scottish League 2

Runaway fourth-tier leaders Stenhousemuir are seeking an 11th consecutive win as they visit The Spartans, who are a distant 14 points behind in third but who have themselves won five in a row.

Win today and it will be the best winning run in League 2 since Rangers' run in season 2012-13.

Second-top Peterhead visit seventh-placed Stranraer, while fourth-placed Dumbarton are away to Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic, who are eight points adrift despite being just behind in fifth.

Bottom side Clyde will look to build on their win over Bonnyrigg - their first under new manager Ian McCall - as they visit East Fife, while the two sides above them, Forfar Athletic and Elgin City, face up in Angus.

    • Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic v Dumbarton
    • East Fife v Clyde
    • Forfar Athletic v Elgin City
    • Stranraer v Peterhead

  19. Who will overcome poor form?published at 14:35 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    Arbroath v Ayr United (15:00)

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at Gayfield

Even at this stage, this afternoon’s game at Gayfield feels like a pretty significant one.

Arbroath currently prop up the table, but the hosts are just two points behind eighth-placed visitors Ayr United.

Both teams are taking some pretty rotten form into this one - both without a win in four outings.

The Red Lichties have won just one of their last 12 leagues games, have no wins in six at home and have conceded nine goals in their last three matches.

The Honest Men have won just one of their last 10 league games and have conceded 12 goals in their last four.

  20. Delay to kick-off in Edinburghpublished at 14:31 Greenwich Mean Time 13 January

    Edinburgh City v Falkirk (15:30)

The Edinburgh City v Falkirk game in League 1 is heading for a half-hour delay to kick-off, our reporter, Amy Canavan, tells us.

All because of safety concerns. The bags that hold down the barriers at Meadowbank Stadium are supposed to be filled by the sports centre in the morning.

But they weren’t due to "not having the correct hose apparatus". That must be a first in Scottish football.

Fans have been told game will go ahead. They’re just not allowed into this terrific arena just yet.
