I'm sure Newport wouldn't say no to a replay at Old Trafford...

Probably a little bit premature. It's unthinkable for a club of this size to lose a game here. United have got a bit of work to do now.

Newport just have to keep making their chances. This is what it's all about, putting their bodies on the line. I do think switching to a four will really help them rather than playing with the back five.

That is Will Evans' 18th goal of the season. This is only the 26-year-old's second season in the English Football League, having previously played in the Welsh leagues.

Not even the most optimistic Newport/pessimistic Manchester United fan could really have predicted this at 2-0 with the hosts on the ropes.

Wow. It's incredible. Don't you just love the FA Cup? It starts down the right, gets switched to the left and what a pass from Lewis. A centre-forward's run from Evans, he gets a toe to it. What a start, sensational!

    Will Evans

    Say whaaaat?!

Newport are level. Adam Lewis swings in a cross from the left and Will Evans beats Raphael Varane to the ball to poke it past the keeper.

United's biggest problem is that it is a team full of individuals with big egos. Hence wasteful attempts at goal instead of intelligent service to the strikers, and behaviour like Rashford's. Ten Hag needs to get a grip of, or replace, the egos and turn them into team players.

Says a lot when £86m Antony looks lively and a threat against a side in League Two. Maybe he's found his level, and that's no disrespect intended towards Newport fans, by the way!

  15. 'Newport need to look at their wing-backs'published at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January

    HT: Newport 1-2 Man Utd

    Micah Richards
Former England defender on BBC One

Newport really need to look at their wing-backs, they have been beaten so many times in that first half.

Lewis and McLaughlin have given United too much space, if you give them time, they are a Premier League team and they will hurt you. It should have probably been 3-0.

  16. 'Newport got the luck they needed'published at 17:27 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January

    Alan Shearer
Former England and Newcastle striker on BBC One

This was probably the only Newport were going to score, something spectacular. If you don't win that first ball, you have to win the second. It's clever. If you don't win the flick on, you have to win the second. The manager said they are going to need a bit of luck and they got it there.

  20. Rashford is 'causing more problems' for Unitedpublished at 17:23 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January

    HT: Newport 1-2 Man Utd

    Micah Richards
Former England defender on BBC One

Marcus [Rashford] needs to understand he is a public figure and wherever he goes there is going to be attention on him. Whether he is given a day off or whatever but then before a game he is causing more problems.

They wanted to come to the game today and focus on it and now we are having to ask him [Erik ten Hag] what is happening off the pitch. It has not been good enough from the whole squad since Ten Hag has come to the club.
