Richy: That's such a special moment for Maidstone, imagine if VAR had checked that and ruled it out! What a moment.

James Tingley: Absolutely superb goal by Maidstone United.

Buzz Nightmare: This game is hilarious! Maidstone fans sing “who are ya!”

Reynolds wheels away to celebrate his audacious goal v Ipswich.Image source, PA Media

It was a good clearance from Maidstone from the corner and just one ball clear gets Reynolds beyond the Ipswich defence.

It was the most beautifully professional finish you will see. He takes his time, I thought he was going to smash it but Walton commits to going low as he comes out to make the save and Reynolds just dinks the ball over his head.

What a finish - unbelievable! And a deserved reward for their efforts so far.

Look at the celebrations. You had the feeling with one good ball over the top, they could get something.

    What about the finish?

    Lamar Reynolds (43 mins)

    WHAT A GOAL!

That is sensational! Shades of Ella Toone, or Davor Suker about this! Maidstone counter attack from an Ipswich set-piece, one ball across field from Liam Sole sends Lamar Reynolds away on goal. He runs from 40 yards out, he's one on one but can he finish?!

You bet. Left-footed, clipped over the head of Christian Walton and in. Absolutely, genuinely brilliant.

Maidstone captain Gavin Hoyte played at Arsenal with his brother Justin. He certainly doesn't look out of his depth here today.

  8. CLOSE!published at 42 mins

    Ipswich 0-0 Maidstone

Great chance! Sone Aluko should score. Dominic Ball shanks a shot from the edge of the area and it turns into a great pass for Aluko, but the former Fulham man loses his composure under pressure and dribbles a miscued shot wide of the target from about 12 yards out.

    Huge chance for the hosts.

I hate to say it from Maidstone's point of view [not wanting to jinx it], but they look pretty comfortable at the moment.

If they can just work out how to deal better with this right hand side then they will be even happier I would think.

VAR should be scrapped for every game in the Cup! It's stupid that some games have it and not others! By the way, it should be scrapped full stop!

    Ipswich 0-0 Maidstone

    Terry Butcher

    What a moment that was!

When the ball struck the defender it looped up into the air, Covolan was stood rooted to the spot, and luckily for Maidstone it grazed the bar on its way over.

A good run and strike from Sarmiento.

Ipswich hit the crossbar now! Jeremy Sarmiento runs through the middle, Maidstone back off him and he chooses to shoot from 25 yards. Again it takes a massive deflection, loops up and hits the corner of post and bar.

    How's your luck?!

First memory of the FA cup was as a 6 year old in my grandmother's watching Liverpool win the cup for the first time! As the Saint hit the winner, my Dad threw a dining room chair up in the air and tea hit the ceiling.

Kieran Mckenna will be telling his Ipswich players to be more calculated when it comes to the final ball and the final shot.

They have had all the possession, all the chances, and are getting in behind the Maidstone defence.

The only worry is the longer the game goes on and they continue not finding the goal then the more frustrated Ipswich will start to become.
