First FA Cup final was Chelsea vs Leeds, 1970-both matches. Watching as a 6 year old I didn't realise at the time how violent the players were! Best final? No question, Arsenal vs Man Utd, 1979. Man Utd's comeback in the last 5 minutes only for Alan Sunderland to score a last minute winner for Arsenal.

Ipswich have hit the same post twice now.

Lucky for Maidstone it didn't deflect into the back of the net. Ipswich are really in their groove now, passing the ball about nicely, and Maidstone clearly haven't come up against an opponent of this level before.

The longer it goes on though they will get used to it and grow into the game.

Post again! A charmed life back there as Omari Hutchinson hits another shot from the edge of the area, it takes a whacking great deflection and hits the base of the post and away.

Maidstone are riding their luck big time!

    What a move from Ipswich.

They sucked Maidstone out towards the flanks, worked it inside with a lovely one-two, and it is a great save from Lucas.

Sarmiento hit it from outside the box and the ball hit the post - the keeper did well to deal with the rebound from Hutchinson too.

Maidstone have got this shape now. They're sitting on the edge of their own box.

We managed an hour without mentioning Jurgen...

Ipswich hit the post! Unlucky, hit from range by Jeremy Sarmiento and against the post before Omari Hutchinson's follow-up is well saved by Brazilian keeper Lucas!

My first FA Cup Final. Everton vs Liverpool 1986. Lineker scored first, before Rush scored 2 and Johnstone got 1. 3-1 winners, completing the double that year having just won the league. Warm sunny day, I was only 10! Memories…

For a bit of added context, Maidstone have league games in the diary against Hemel Hempstead and Aveley this month. That's the level they usually come up against.

  10. 'A win-win situation for Maidstone'published at 12:35 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January

If Maidstone win here it will surely rank as one of the biggest upsets in the history of the FA Cup.

The way the clubs are, the difference in the level they play at etc.

Maidstone will have won seven games if they manage to get through today - you normally get to the final and even win it with a run like that as a higher-ranked side.

You have to admire their togetherness, the fans have come in their numbers, it is a win-win situation for them today.

    Ipswich 0-0 Maidstone

Ipswich start the game with a period of patient possession as you'd expect. Kieran McKenna's side have won plenty of friends and plaudits with their style of play over the last 18 months or so.

And there's the first chance, Nathan Broadhead close to meeting a cutback at close range.

    Ipswich v Maidstone (12:30 GMT)

I heard Roy Keane kicking off last week about the idea of a Premier League team being 'happy' to be out of the FA Cup. As usual I think I agree.

Ipswich have made 10 changes today, will that prove to be an error? The players are on the pitch and you can watch on this page...

  15. 'It is history for us'published at 12:28 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January

    Ipswich v Maidstone (12:30 GMT)

Maidstone boss George Elokobi, speaking to BBC One: "I want to say thank you to Ipswich for such warm hospitality for us. It's an amazing occasion for us today. They are flying high in the Championship. It is history for us. We need to enjoy the occasion first."

  16. 'Premier League teams always expected to have a good run'published at 12:28 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

At the start of the season you look at realistic contenders for the FA Cup, or those teams who can have a good run in the competition, and you look at the Premier League teams.

Fulham and Newcastle both expected to have a good go, Brighton too, and I always believe Everton should have a good go in the cup as well.

Other teams may have other things on their mind, the likes of Ipswich today, they have their promotion push that will probably take precedence over a cup run. Some others probably wouldn't mind getting knocked out at this stage either so they can focus on the league.

    Ipswich v Maidstone (12:30 GMT)

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna, speaking to BBC One: "It's a really good game, it's really useful to be honest. We're keen to have the squad involved. We want to go as deep as we possibly can in the competition."

Stevie B: First FA Cup final I can remember was Chelsea v Middlesbrough in the 90s, Di Matteo's goal, I was brought up a Boro fan and started crying as my dad still reminds me! (I was 7!) Because of Alan Shearer I ended up a Newcastle fan though!
