We had to wait until added-on time for the match’s first true moment of quality and it is great play all round.

Benchimol’s strike looks destined for the top corner until Ronwen Williams pulls off a captain’s save to tip it on to the bar.

Most players from Cape Verde’s bench were already on the pitch ready to celebrate what would surely have been the winning goal, but are now gathered around the ice boxes drawing breath ahead of extra-time.

It has got penalties written all over it, hasn’t it?

Unless there is an equally good stop in one of the semi-finals or indeed the final, that will go down as the save of the tournament to deny Tavares

    What a save that is!

Maybe it's just your day when the keeper pulls off a save like that.

    OH MY WORD!

A glorious opportunity for Cape Verde to win it as Gilson Benchimol goes through one-on-one, but South Africa keeper Ronwen Williams tips his shot on to the bar.

South Africa an inch away from crashing out.

South Africa have a wide free-kick of their own but it's easily cleared. I think we're heading for extra-time folks.

I have to say, neither team looks overly keen to find a winner here.

Strange, given that a Nations Cup semi-final is up for grabs.

Cape Verde certainly look the more likely to find the all-important breakthrough, with Bubista now having used all five of his substitutes.

The crowd are doing their best to urge them on, probably because they are not all that keen on another half hour.

First we'll have some Cape Verde changes. Gilson Benchimol replaces Jovane Cabralnine and Laros Duarte comes on for Jamiro Monteiro.

Willy Semedo nutmegs a defender and then wins Cape Verde a promising wide free-kick. Is this where we find a winner?
