  3. 'We're making improvements'published at 15:00 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    FT: Arsenal 1-0 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham head coach Robert Vilahamn tells BBC Two: "We played against a very good team who started with some very good moments.

"It was an even game, even though they were the better team with the ball, they created the shots and the goal. I think you can see that we're there to play, we want to play through them and we have options. We did a good game but we lost unfortunately."

On taking positives from the game: "I think in the last year, they [Spurs] lost 4-0 and 5-1 against Arsenal and we need to understand that it takes time to compete against the top teams and now we've won one, we dictate some part of the game.

"We've taken steps and that's what I want to see right now. We definitely want to win but I also understand that Arsenal away is one of the most difficult games you can have, and we competed for 97 minutes and pushed them down. That is what I want to see right now because we're taking steps and in the long run, we're going to be able to win these games."

If things remain as they are then it's a big missed opportunity for Bristol City.

They'll be at least five points adrift of safety, and could be eight points adrift if West Ham manage to beat Manchester United in the 15:00 GMT kick-off.

Time is running out for the league's promoted side to try and secure safety.

  6. 'We can beat any team if we hit our levels'published at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    FT: Arsenal 1-0 Tottenham

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall tells BBC Two: "We knew it was going to be important to score the first goal because they are a very resilient side. We talked at half-time about keeping belief in our off the ball runs in our passes and it was really nice to see that came off."

On the impressive pass from Kim Little in the build-up to Arsenal's goal: "It’s an incredible pass by Kim, really good positioning in the run and the first touch from Beth. Then it’s about the positioning as a nine. We’ve been speaking about Russo and how to get her into more high quality goalscoring opportunities and she’s doing a very good job here, keeping herself central and waiting for that ball. It’s a patience game as a nine and she’s doing that well."

On seven straight home wins: "I haven’t really thought about it. We go one game at a time. It was incredible being here again. It was important us having a clean sheet. We usually don’t allow too many chances against us but we have been a little bit sloppy in allowing opponents to score against us. Now we look forward to Wednesday and the Coni Cup semi-final."

On if he is confident Arsenal can chase down WSL leaders Manchester City: "I’m very confident in this team’s ability that we can beat any team if we hit our levels of performance."

  7. Man Utd's European hopes slipping awaypublished at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

West Ham v Man Utd (15:00 GMT)

Manchester United have a big task at hand if they're to somehow find a way to reach the Champions League qualification places.

With Liverpool currently ahead against Aston Villa, if they can hold onto that lead they will move to fourth in the Women's Super League, shifting United for now.

If Marc Skinner's side beat West Ham they will move back into fourth place but still seven points off third-place Arsenal with just eight games remaining.

Earning a spot in Europe is out of the Red Devils' hands, all they can do is continue to pick up points and hope others drop them.

Out to stop them will be a West Ham side who have their recent triumph over Arsenal still in the back of their minds, albeit with a defeat by Everton coming in their most recent game.

    Arsenal

On if she was happy with the performance: "Spurs are a top side and they play some really good football. On the performance: "I think the three points is the most important thing, but we weren't at our best."

On whether Arsenal need to improve their set-piece conversion rate: "We spoke about our conversion rate and corners before the game. It's about us trying to be more composed. If we want to win the league we have take our chances."

On whether Arsenal were lacking intent in set-pieces: "I think we can probably be a bit more diverse with our corners, maybe going a bit short. You can see across the game, when you're good at set-pieces you've got more chances of winning games."

On Tottenham's defence: "They were in the low block a lot, we struggled to break through. I thought we did it fairly well to get through."

On whether Arsenal can still win the league: "I think so, we spoke about this next block. If we do what we can, we can get into a final and then maybe go level on points. We need to turn up in those big games."

I think what I enjoyed about Arsenal is they kept trying, kept probing. Kim Little came to life and she's a master at work. She delivers this lovely cross and it's the timing and patience of Beth Mead. Russo was there to follow up with the finish.
