This is why Arsenal will be kicking themselves about not getting into the lead. Tottenham showed at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium that they don't need too many chances to get into the lead.

Arsenal have around five minutes to get ahead before the break. Cries of 'shoooot' from the sell-out Emirates crowd as Beth Mead picks the ball up on the edge of the area.

We've seen so much from Mead in recent years that the crowd just expect her to be the one to deliver the goods now.

With Arsenal's dominance in corners, they really need to be making the most of it.

Another corner wasted by Arsenal. No doubt Jonas Eidevall will have something to say about that at the break. So many set-piece opportunities and nothing to show for it so far.

Beth Mead floats in Arsenal's ninth corner of the match, Becky Spencer comes out to claim but fumbles it and it's almost a disaster for Spurs but the keeper composes herself and gathers again. The referee gives a foul against Spencer as she appeared to get a shove on her way down.

The type of situation they are in, Arsenal are finding it really hard to get through that block of Tottenham.

Kit Graham gets a talking to from the referee for a late challenge on Lia Walti.

Can Arsenal just nick one before half-time? They are starting to threaten again but Spurs have defended resolutely.

This North London derby is now a properly hotly-contested derby, it's a really fierce contest and one to watch on the calendar now, despite what the bookies and history would tell you.

Oh dear. Delightful through ball from Steph Catley to Caitlin Foord on the left-hand side but she just mistimes her run and the flag shoots up.

Her shot dribbles just wide anyway.

There's a lot of chasing shadows at the minute for Tottenham. They have to be disciplined and they are doing the doggy work. They can't be tired though after 21 minutes, I'm not having that. They have shown that they can cause problems on the break.

Beth Mead opts to square the ball to Caitlin Foord rather than take the shot on herself but the Australian is off balance and is penalised for handling the ball as she falls over.

We've seen Mead score from there before, perhaps she should've had a go.

Anything but three points for Arsenal would mean their slim title chances would be over. Given their form, you can't see Manchester City dropping too many points.

Arsenal have another corner and Beth Mead sends it in but there's a bit of pinball in the box as no one can bring it down and get a shot away.

I think Zinsberger got a touch on that. Excellent timing and great play from Naz, she's on the shoulder, gets past Wubben-Moy. Just turns and shoots.

What a strike! Jessica Naz drives into the area and doesn't have much choice but to go for goal herself. She lashes at it with her right foot and it clips the crossbar.

What an effort.

Beth Mead picks up the ball around 10 yards out and has a shot but it's blocked in a congested penalty area.

Every time Mead gets on the ball the crowd inside the Emirates are expecting her to do something.

Katie McCabe slots a delightful pass through for Alessia Russo but Becky Spencer beats the forward to it and makes a good save.

Once Beth Mead comes in tighter into the box, it just gets congested and Arsenal just can't seem to break through Tottenham's defence right now.

Tottenham are certainly enjoying some sustained periods of possession now and Arsenal could be made to rue those early chances that they didn't take.

Spurs are growing into this game, using Summanen as a pivot to get out of the defence.

A first real opportunity for Tottenham as Martha Thomas picks the ball up and drives down the right-hand side. She drifts into the area and goes for a left-footed effort which Manuela Zinsberger parries away then collects.

Thomas looked offside to me but there we are.
