Despite their poor start to the season, Aston Villa boss Carla Ward says her side want to find themselves in the WSL top six come the end of the season.

Villa have lost just one of their last five WSL games and are eighth in the table, three points off sixth-placed Tottenham.

No-one gave us a chance after five games,” Ward said.

“All of a sudden we're in touching distance. But we're also just a couple of defeats away from being in the mix at the bottom. Our feet are firmly on the ground, we know where we want to get to.

"The group are hungry, they're hungry to silence still some of the noise so they want to continue to kick on.”
