  1. 'Getting sacked by Bournemouth a good thing'published at 13:48 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    Newcastle v Wolves (15:00 GMT)

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Gary O'Neil speaks with such passion. He is out there to prove himself at this level. I actually think getting sacked by Bournemouth was a good thing because it will have created that fire after that emotion. It's ultimately put him in a good position to take over at Wolves and if he keeps on with this form, and if he is touching Europe, he has got to be in the conversation for manager of the season.

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil was a guest on The Friday Football Social and spoke about the lessons he learned after being sacking by Bournemouth last summer.

"It was a surprise of course when you receive the message and then the phone call," he said. "It was a shock, working through the summer on recruitment targets and then all of a sudden news like that comes out of the blue.

"I was new to management at the time, did as well as I could at that time with the group. Maybe Bournemouth felt they needed someone more experienced.

"To be honest, I’m miles better now at my job than I was then."

O'Neil, 40, has steered Wolves to within one point of seventh in the table and a place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

  4. 'Keeping Forest up will be success for Nuno'published at 13:42 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

Nottingham Forest v Liverpool (15:00 GMT)

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on Football Focus

Making the City Ground a fortress [is important for Forest].

I think Nuno will be a success if he kept them in the Premier League, regardless of any deduction. That's success, as far as Nuno and the players will be concerned.

But in the hierarchy I imagine they will be saying 'let's beat relegation by 10 points to give us a bit of a cushion.'

  6. How many points will Forest lose?published at 13:39 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

That seems to be the word [Nottingham Forest will lose points]. Both Everton and Nottingham Forest. I think Forest's mitigation is that Everton's punishment which turned out to be six points was over a three year period. Forest's is only over a year. The rest of it is EFL stuff so I think they might be saved. It is difficult to defend but we should find out pretty soon.

  7. More points deductions to come?published at 13:37 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

Does anyone really know how the bottom of the table really looks, with Everton and Nottingham Forest still facing possible points deductions?

It could get to the end of the season where Forest think they are safe only to find out a few days later events off the pitch have decided their fate.

With Arsenal at Sheffield United on Monday and Manchester City not playing until tomorrow, Liverpool will open up a four-point lead at the top if they win at Nottingham Forest. Aston Villa will establish an eight-point lead on fifth-placed Tottenham if they win at Luton and Spurs lose at home to Crystal Palace.

  9. 'Everything is coming together for Liverpool'published at 13:33 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

Nottingham Forest v Liverpool (15:00 GMT)

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on Football Focus

Everything is coming together for Liverpool and I think they will keep getting better as they get towards the end of the season.

I think they will be absolutely shattered but I think they could [keep it up]. Special things happen when announcements like that are made and everyone will be pulling in the same direction for Jurgen Klopp and wanting to send him off on a high.
