  1. 'One of the best goals of my career'published at 17:27 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    FT: Everton 1-3 West Ham

    West Ham United

West Ham goal-scorer Tomas Soucek, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Before the game I said it would be tough and it was. After that we concede nearly from the penalty, Alphonse [Areola] great performance. Last 10 minutes was crazy and I'm so happy to help the team."

On his goal: "One of the best of my career, a special one. Another winning goal for West Ham especially special after this tough game.

"Hopefully that goal will help us, we have two wins in a row now and we look forward to the Europa League."

On keeper saves: "Brilliant game from him, especially the penalty save that's so difficult to do. I had one or two clearances on the line too and he came to me and thanked me. Great game for both of us.

"Tough game today but another three points, two games two wins."

It would be harsh to toss Aston Villa in as an also ran in the title race, especially after their demolition of Nottingham Forest last week.

I wrote last week about how highly I rate winger Leon Bailey and how important he is to his side. He underlined it yet again with an unstoppable performance, that immediately brought the best out of striker Ollie Watkins again.

No club duo have more assists between them this season than those two, with 17 so far. There is nothing a striker likes more than a conveyor belt of chances and that is what Bailey provides.

Villa are unlikely to catch the top three but fourth looks viable.

Crystal Palace look really good, they are showing a massive improvement under Oliver Glasner.

They are well organised and tough to breakdown - they just ran out of steam.

  4. 'Villa win games efficiently'published at 17:24 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

Luton v Aston Villa (17:30 GMT)

    Ashley Williams
Former Wales defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Unai Emery is getting the best out of good players because there are no grey areas. There is freedom within the system and he plays a way the opposition will know how they are going to play, but it is difficult to stop that.

Emery is getting the best of Leon Bailey, and Douglas Luiz is one of the best players in the league this season.

Villa win games efficiently and that will stand them in good stead.

  5. 'We have to take ownership'published at 17:23 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    FT: Everton 1-3 West Ham

    Everton

Everton defender James Tarkowski, speaking to Premier League Productions: "We have to take ownership, we create chances and defend well but we don't put the ball in the back of the net.

"We didn't put the game to bed, the penalty, four or five great opportunities, you get punished in this league.

"We can't just keep saying their keeper has played well, it's on us to score goals. We cause teams problems, win the ball back high but if we don't score we don't win football matches.

"We know we can defend leads but in general we have to score so many more goals this season."

  6. 'Not must-win'published at 17:22 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

Luton v Aston Villa (17:30 GMT)

Luton boss Rob Edwards on facing Aston Villa after three straight Premier League defeats: "It’s not a must win but we know it’s an important game. I’m looking forward to it. It’s a clear game for us and it’ll be different to the Manchester City and Liverpool games where there was lots of chaos."

  7. 'The reaction was outstanding'published at 17:21 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    FT: Tottenham 3-1 Crystal Palace

    Tottenham Hotspur

    Ange PostecoglouImage source, Getty Images

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou, speaking to BBC Sport: "Persistence, some quality, belief. It wasn't easy game with them sitting so deep. We needed a goal to open them up but still kept composed and disciplined. When they got their goal it was only time they got the ball in our half. The reaction was outstanding.

"It was a game we should have won a lot more comfortably but we had real belief in the process and were not getting swayed by things not going our way. I thought the mentality was first rate.

On Timo Werner's first goal for Spurs: "For all of the attacking players goals are important. I thought he was having good game generally [despite first-half miss]. He didn't stop believing, got into the right area and outstanding work from Brennan [Johnson, who provided the cross]."

On James Maddison's assist for the second goal and Son Heung-min's late strike: "In those moments looking for leaders and our last three goals were the leaders we have in the group. Son deserved his goal. He worked hard. That is the person you want on the ball."

  8. 'How we have four wins, I can't believe'published at 17:20 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    FT: Nottingham Forest 0-1 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to Sky Sports: "Most difficult game we played because of the circumstances. Four games in 11 days is really tricky with the squad situation we have.

"It was super special. You could see it didn't go easy for us today in any part of the game. It's so hard. How we have four wins, I can't believe.

"Incredible assist in the very last second. Wonderful feeling. I'm really happy.

"I can't ask for more than what the boys are doing.

"Next Sunday would be a massive game anyway. Before that we play a difficult game in Prague. We have to keep going, recover."

  9. Should Luton be more cautious?published at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

A bit more caution at times would be nice and less space between the lines, but with a rising injury list it could be that attack is the best form of defence for Luton in their Premier League survival bid.

Whatever happens, if the tactics remain like this it's going to be a rollercoaster in these upcoming 13 'cup finals' - as boss Rob Edwards described the remaining games.

Go down or stay up swinging or being conservative? I'll take the attacking option but would be in favour of toning it down a tad.

There won't be many nil-nil's that's for sure.

  10. 'It's never over with Liverpool'published at 17:18 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    FT: Nottingham Forest 0-1 Liverpool

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on Final Score

Alexis Mac Allister is quality. He carries himself like a World Cup winner.

It was in the 99th minute of the game. It just goes to show that it's never over with Liverpool.

There are a whole generation of Aston Villa supporters who have not seen their team compete at the top table of European football. But Unai Emery has got fans dreaming big, with Villa challenging for a place in next season's Champions League.

Villa last competed in the competition back in 1982-83 - one season after winning the European Cup.

These are exciting times for Villa with Emery's side in Amsterdam next Thursday to face Ajax in the last-16 of the Europa Conference League.

  13. 'We can go toe-to-toe with anyone in this league'published at 17:13 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

    FT: Fulham 3-0 Brighton

    Fulham

Fulham goalscorer Harry Wilson, speaking to Premier League Productions: "We knew going into the game that Brighton would have large spells of the ball. We worked on it all week to make the most of when we could get it.

"Although they had a lot of the ball, we had the better chances and probably could have scored more.

"Rodrigo [Muniz] the last few weeks has been amazing. The goals have come and he deserves that. He always makes it hard for defenders and battles for the ball. The way he set up my goal shows that.

"We took the confidence of the result from last week into this game. To go to Old Trafford without Willian and Joao [Palhinha] and win was great. When we're on it we can go toe-to-toe with anyone in this league."

Ben: Seriously, no talk at all about the drop ball the ref gave away to Liverpool, directly leading to their goal? Farcical from the ref.

Andrew: Forest players and staff upset, and I can see why. Konate fakes a head injury after Liverpool barely clear a corner, hops straight to his feet when the ref stops play, then Liverpool keep the ball from the restart instead of returning the ball to Forest.

At the end referee Paul Tierney was surrounded by Nottingham Forest's coaching staff. I wouldn't be surprised if there was action taken after the game, it is a hammer blow for Nottingham Forest.

Liverpool's first win at the City Ground since 1984.

We hear it time and time again in football, if you don't take your chances....

This will make for painful post-match analysis for Sean Dyche and his staff.

In a week where Everton got four points back off the pitch in the appeals court, they don’t get any on it.

David Moyes was forced into a bit of Dad dancing at the end as he was dragged over by his players to celebrate in front of the away end.

Two weeks on from seeing a 'Moyes out' banner amongst his own supporters, he responds with back-to-back wins.

  17. Postpublished at 17:09 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March

Another soul crushing weekend of being an Everton fan. But hey, it's only been 29 years of it...

    Rob, Ely

Spineless Everton once again. The slightest sign of hard times and that group of frauds down tools. You'd expect better from a Sean Dyche team but honestly nothing surprises me with them anymore.

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister: "This is such a special day for us. To win it like that is not easy. We came to a tough place.

"In that moment I knew it was last minute and I just had to put it in. Darwin is such an important player for us.

"There is no easy game in the Premier League. Very happy, very happy.

"It's three points. We move onto Thursday.

"We were always positive. Our leaders were keeping the team very positive. We're a good group, nice players on and off the pitch."

It's incredible for Liverpool. But for Forest you have to feel sorry for them.

They had the ball on the edge of the box.

    It is a massive moment.
