Aston Villa are confidently moving the ball and working areas and stretching the play. I think this is something we are going to see for the rest of the game.

I think Luton's outlet is for Ross Barkley to switch it out to Alfie Doughty.

Re: Mike (17:39) - I'm a Villa fan who loves Watkins, but Kane is definitely the starter in that role for England. Experience and ability is second to none. Watkins is definitely the next best choice.

    Mike, Birmingham

Mike in Manchester, behave yourself. Watkins is fantastic but he doesn't start over England's all time top scorer. Definitely deserves to be in the squad though, no doubt about that

Ross Barkley’s been playing some blooming gorgeous footy of late! He’s gotta be looking at a seat on the plane if he carries on in this rich vein of form, surely!?

Aston Villa are creating overloads in the wide areas. Right now it is proving to be very effective.

Jacob Ramsey has been at the heart of everything. Right now, Luton are outnumbered and it is causing them too many problems.

Forest only have themselves to blame! They had plenty of decent opportunities but lacked the composure and or quality once in and around Liverpool's penalty area!

    Ross

Re Ben 17.12 The ref did exactly the same thing 20 mins earlier to Forest advantage when the defender went to ground because, ahem, the ball hit him. You want consistency from the ref, then that's what you got.

Villa are threatening on both flanks and Ollie Watkins is holding up play far too easily at the moment.

Every point is important for them and every match is a cup final.

I thought at the start Villa were dominating but Luton are starting to show a little more flair now.

    Liverpool didn't stop.

They were not at their best today, but they made changes and looked a lot better - the credit you have to give Liverpool is they didn't go away.

You wonder what this will do to Forest as it will be a hammer blow, the way they have lost this game and what they put into the game.

You talk about champions, this is what champions do.

A team with a winning mentality, it was there in abundance today and this will be a huge win in Liverpool's season.

That's terrific defending by Teden Mengi who uses his strength to prevent another chance for Jacob Ramsey. It looks like Amari'i Bell has tweaked his hamstring. This is not good news for Luton.

It's 97 minutes and Liverpool will punish you. If it was the other way round and [Nottingham Forest] got a late winner, they would have been happy with it.

It's just one of those things that both teams have to swallow.

Everything that Jurgen Klopp seems to be doing at the moment seems to be working.

We have got a brilliant run-in on our hands.

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BBC Sport: "Pretty special afternoon. It's been a tricky schedule.

"This game didn't go easy for us. We didn't have a great rhythm and the boys felt the intensity for the first time.

"We had our moments. We didn't start well.

"In the last second the guy who looks like a former Liverpool player thought I'll score a goal and decide the game.

"The goal was set up by a guy who was the calmest on the whole pitch. I saw it only live but I'll never forget it. He was calm. He chips the ball there. Super assist and super important goal.

"If you'd told me 12 days ago we would win all four games I would have said no chance, it was impossible. In the circumstances winning the games is ridiculous.

"We will recharge until the next game. It's pretty special what the boys did. To get to that points tally was a big fight. It never was easy."

Aston Villa have performed consistently over the season and have gone about it very quietly.

What has helped is when a team has a system to fall back on, when something doesn’t go well they all know their job and there is no kind of grey areas.

Villa are going to play the same way and will continue to do that up until the end.
