  1. Brentford still keen on Nusapublished at 11:47 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

It will be interesting to see if Antonio Nusa's proposed move from Club Bruges to Brentford goes ahead.

There were suggestions earlier in the week that issues had arisen around his medical.

However, I am told Brentford are still working on a deal, although given they didn't regard it as a transfer to be completed this month, I don't know if there is time pressure.

  2. Fulham unlikely to pursue Broja dealpublished at 11:44 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

Fulham are very unlikely to pursue their interest in Armando Broja as Chelsea are demanding a hefty loan fee for the striker.

Broja was one of a number of options being explored by manager Marco Silva as he attempts to solve Fulham’s shortage of goals, with Paris St-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike another potential target.

Chelsea initially demanded £50m for a permanent deal for Broja and that also proved too much for Wolves, who also held a strong interest in the 22-year-old Slough-born Albania international.

It is now believed Chelsea were prepared to accept a £5m loan fee but it is understood Fulham still regard any overall package as too pricey for a deal until the end of the season and will look elsewhere.

  3. Palace active, with Cornet an optionpublished at 11:40 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

    Alex Howell
    BBC Sport

Crystal Palace have been active in this window and signed Daniel Munoz from Genk, while the signing of Blackburn midfielder Adam Wharton is getting closer.

Maxwel Cornet is another player who is of interest to the Eagles and West Ham have been made aware of the interest.

Cornet would give Palace some much-needed depth in the attacking areas and take the pressure off Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze.

  4. Deadline-day moves 'aren't a two-person decision'published at 11:36 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Football agent Roberto de Fanti on keeping players happy: "Usually players do blame their agents if they see something happen. I try to teach and make the players understand that everything does not depend on their decision or mine, but mostly on the clubs.

"If the clubs don't feel comfortable in how much they need to spend, then sometimes it doesn't happen. It's a three-party thing, not only a two-person decision. At the end of the day, the decision maker is not even the player, it is the club."

To sell Sam Johnstone, a keeper who is far more reliable than Henderson, would be a sign of utter insanity for Palace. All we need is a competent striker, and we've been lacking one since we sold Glenn Murray nine years ago.

  6. Johnstone still at Palacepublished at 11:32 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

There is Nottingham Forest interest in Sam Johnstone, with Nuno Espirito Santo keen to bring in another goalkeeper.

However, no deal has been done yet and I have been told Johnstone is currently at the Crystal Palace training ground.

Strasbourg's Matz Sels has also been mentioned as an option for Forest.

Alexanderjourno: Putting Broja up for sale at £50m is clearly quite an optimistic price tag to have but I wonder if, again, it may be something to do with FFP and whether Chelsea need to squeeze as much money as they can out of players to meet requirements.

  8. 'Hard to see how Broja is worth £50m'published at 11:27 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

Speaking on the Transfer Gossip Daily podcast, the Daily Telegraph's Jim White discussed the hefty price tag which Chelsea have put on Fulham and Wolves target Armando Broja: "It's hard to see how Armando Broja could be worth £50m. He had a good season at Southampton, although he is pretty injury prone.

"I can see why Fulham would be interested in him. They are really missing Aleksandar Mitrovic and they need a big, strong centre-forward because [Raul] Jimenez is just not scoring for them.

"Marco Silva is a terrific coach too, I think he would get a lot out of him, but £50m? Come on!

"You either do two deals in football now. You either sell your academy products or you sell an existing player to a Saudi Pro League team - that's how you get money into modern Premier League clubs."

Djamel Makhlouf: Losing Broja would be a travesty. Jackson is a shambles and Nkunku is always injured. How can fans get behind the players emerging from the academy is they're just farmed then sold?

  10. 'Fulham will be the busiest'published at 11:17 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Football agent Roberto de Fanti on which club will be the busiest today: "I don't see anybody signing a big name like in previous years. This year it is quieter.

"There's a statistic that says there's been a 10th of the money involved in respect to the last January window. I don't see clubs trying to spend a lot of money this window. Maybe Fulham for a striker. If I had to bet on a Premier League club, I would say Fulham."

Aston Villa sign Morgan Rogers from Middlesbrough

Aston Villa have completed the signing of Morgan Rogers from Middlesbrough.

Villa have paid an undisclosed fee for the 21-year-old, who joined Boro from Manchester City last summer.

He came through the youth ranks at West Brom before leaving in 2019 for City, who sent him on loan to Lincoln, Bournemouth and Blackpool.

Rogers has scored seven goals in 32 games this season, including one against Chelsea in the League Cup semi-finals.

  12. Multi-club ownerships interesting in this marketpublished at 11:09 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

    Alex Howell
    BBC Sport

With financial rules seeming to limit what clubs can do this window, clubs may look to use their multi-club ownership models to assist them with player trading.

Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor owns the Eagles, Lyon, Botafogo and Molenbeek. Palace winger Malcolm Ebiowei is likely to join the latter and the Belgian club has already taken Tayo Adaramola on loan.

There could have been another deal done between the clubs. Towering midfielder Skelly Alvero, who has just joined Werder Bremen on loan with an obligation to buy, was also offered to Palace in this window.

  13. 'Almost everything is up for grabs because clubs become desperate'published at 11:03 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Football agent Roberto de Fanti talking to BBC Radio 5 Live about what it's like being an agent on deadline day: "It's been a quieter window compared to other year's due to the compliance of the new rules. The winter window is always very different to the summer one.

"If you work in the business you understand what clubs are looking for. When a club ends up in the last 48 or 24 hours still looking for players, I would say almost everything is up for grabs because they become pretty desperate."

Newcastle striker Callum Wilson, speaking on the Footballer's Football Podcast: "The transfer window closes tonight, I'm sure the manager and all the fans will be happy to see that door closed and we are keeping the squad together.

"There have been a lot of rumours about us not being able to add to it, which is common knowledge. For us as a team it is important we hang on to everyone because we're all going to be needed from now until the end of the season."

Manchester City's X account appeared to show Maxime Esteve sitting behind the dugout in last night's game against Burnley.

The Frenchman's move from Montpellier looks like it's close but we are still awaiting official confirmation of it.

Meanwhile, Clarets defender Connor Roberts has been linked with a loan move to Leeds United and that one could happen once Esteve signs on the dotted line.

Manchester United's Isak Hansen-Aaroen is set to join Werder Bremen.

The 19-year-old has not made a first team appearance for United but did play in the EFL Trophy last season.

Because they are sensible, the German transfer window closes at 1700 GMT rather than 2300 GMT in England, so that deal will have to be wrapped up this afternoon.

That one will be a permanent deal rather than a loan.

  20. 'It would probably be a mistake from West Ham'published at 10:43 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February

The Telegraph's Luke Edwards tells the Transfer Gossip Daily podcast that Crystal Palace's rumoured interest in West Ham's Maxwel Cornet may be an indication that the Eagles are preparing for the departure of Michael Olise.

"Cornet leaving I would find that as a bit of a shock, particularly with West Ham aren't going to bring anybody in so that may well not happen," he said.

"Crystal Palace know that Olise is probably going to go in the summer. I'm aware on the Grapevine of at least five or six Premier League clubs are interested in him. Crystal Palace aren't going to be short of bids and aren't going be short of interest.

"[For] West Ham to let a player go when we spent the last couple of weeks saying that they're desperate to improve their attacking areas because of injuries, to let your cover go, I think that would probably be a mistake. So whether West Ham put the brakes on that that deal on deadline day, we'll have to wait and see."
