West Ham are in relegation danger this season, but the situation was far more severe when the WSL paused for the winter break.

Rehanne Skinner's side have picked up seven points since the resumption, including four against third-placed Arsenal and fourth-placed Man Utd.

“We’ve got to go into every game looking to get points,” Skinner said, whose side face fifth-placed Liverpool.

“They’re in the position that they’re in because they’ve been doing a really good job at getting results. That’s why they’re in a better position than us at the moment.

“We are going into these games with no fear. We just want to make sure that we go and play the way that we want to play. This is another opportunity to do that, it’s another game.

"We’ve given ourselves a platform to build from in the last few games, played well against Manchester United, so that’s at the forefront of people’s minds as well. We just keep doing what we’ve been doing and try to get as many points as we can.”

Liverpool were knocked out of the FA Cup by Leicester last week and Matt Beard wants his side to bounce back against West Ham.

“It’s been one of our greatest strengths this year [bouncing back],” said Beard.

“We knew that we were going to have ups and downs this year, we’ve made such good progress in a short space of time. We’ve had a really good training week, the reflection was tough in the debrief on Tuesday because of the uncharacteristic turnovers that we had in the game.

“At the end of the day, we don’t turn up to not win football matches, sometimes you have off-days.

“We’ve always bounced back well. We know it’s going to be a tough game, it’s a completely different style of game playing against West Ham.

"We just need to make sure that we focus on ourselves and hopefully, we put the wrongs right from last weekend, this weekend.”

Liverpool XI: Laws, Koivisto, Fisk, Fahey, Clark, Matthews, Lundgaard, Holland, Hobinger, Kiernan, Haug.

Subs: Micah, Kearns, Lawley, Enderby, Van de Sanden, Daniels, Parry.

There are also two changes for West Ham from their last game, a 1-1 draw with Manchester United two weeks ago.

Shelina Zadorsky is back from the Gold Cup and replaces Anouk Denton at the back.

Rehanne Skinner's other change sees Emma Snerle come in for Jess Ziu, who drops to the bench.

West Ham XI: Arnold, Zadorsky, Tysiak, Cissoko, Shimizu, Hayashi, Gorry, Snerle, Smith, Asseyi, Ueki.

Subs: Walsh, O'Hanlon, Bergman Lundin, Harries, Ziu, Denton, Cooke, Ademiluyi.

Aston Villa's win over Everton has pretty much ended any lingering doubts about Carla Ward's side getting dragged into relegation issues.

It is starting to look pretty much desperate for Bristol City but a win at Manchester United this afternoon would give them renewed hope.

Here's how the top of the table looks after Chelsea's win over Arsenal.

Manchester City will have the chance to join them on 40 points when they visit Brighton at 12:30 GMT.

A win for Gareth Taylor's side will pretty much rule Arsenal out of the title race. It would be incredibly hard for Jonas Eidevall's team to make up six points on two sides.
