Chelsea have been so passive since going 3-1 up. No intent to attack at all. If Newcastle score a third then Chelsea get what they deserve.

Marc Cucurella is a bit rash, he tried to steal in front of Jacob Murphy and he got rolled. But there was still a lot to do - what a strike.

    A few nervous Chelsea fans.

This makes it very interesting. Jacob Murphy with a brute of a strike from just inside the penalty area as the ball flies past Djordje Petrovic. Murphy had created the chance himself, by rolling Marc Cucurella.

Newcastle looked finished, but now they have hope.

Nicholas Jackson gets a lot of stick, but he's led the line really well today. Some good hold up play, created the Sterling chance with a good header, scored with a nice flick and has offered plenty with the ball at his feet - especially for the third goal.

I don’t care what anyone says, I love Mudryk and would start him over Sterling every day of the week!

Mykhailo Mudryk has been lively since he come on for Raheem Sterling.

Conor Gallagher gets dispossessed by his own player and Mudryk had the composure to take it around the goalkeeper.

He's only been on the pitch for five minutes and Mykhailo Mudryk gets on the scoresheet to maybe put this one beyond Newcastle.

Nicolas Jackson started off the scoring today and he makes a superb run down the left to start the move.

The ball is played to Conor Gallagher, but Mudryk nips the ball off his team-mate and has the speed and talent to sprint through the heart of the Newcastle defence, dance around goalkeeper Martin Dubravka and score from a tight angle.

Mike: This game has been typical of Newcastle’s season. Injuries in attack, shaky at the back. Bring on the 24/25 campaign.

Twenty minutes to go, and Chelsea keeper Djordje Petrovic gets a booking for time wasting. He is quickly joined in the book by team-mate Moises Caicedo for deliberately tripping Tino Livramento close to the touchline.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 72 mins

    Chelsea 2-1 Newcastle

And Chelsea then make a change themselves, with Raheem Sterling, who had earlier had a heated chat with boss Mauricio Pochettino in the first half, going off with Mykhailo Mudryk replacing him.

Another injury problem for Newcastle. Dan Burn may have injured his shoulder when landing badly after heading wide and he has to go off.

Anthony Gordon injured in the first half, Dan Burn injured in the second. Not what Eddie Howe needs.

Emil Krafth comes on for Burn, with Miguel Almiron jogging off to be replaced by Elliot Anderson in another change.

Chelsea on the up, but I still can’t see us winning this. We just cannot kill off a game.

There absolutely is a gulf, but Palmer is the exception. Watching him in this game, it’s like he teleported in by mistake from the City-Liverpool game. Which I suppose in a way he did.
