HT: Leverkusen 0-0 Qarabag (Agg 2-2)

Nothing between Leverkusen and Qarabag FK as the half time whistle sounds.

The visitors have not had a shot on target so far in the game, but they remain well in the tie thanks to plenty of resolute defending.

Xabi Alonso's side dominant but unable to turn their superiority into goals so far.

Think Roma will be heading through easily tonight. The miracle was last season, and qualifying for Europe in the first place. At the end of the day, we're only Brighton....

    Lawrence, Taunton

Considering Watkins I only one of four players I have available for FPL this week I hope it's nothing serious!

What's going on here? Another potential injury as Villa sub Jhon Duran goes down.

He's helped to his feet though and will play on without needing treatment.

Sparta are on the scoresheet at Anfield!

A long ball forward drops kindly to man on loan from Toulouse and Velijko Birmancevic makes no mistake as he pokes the ball past Caoimhin Kelleher.

Nunez is absolute chaos. He's like the Harlem Globetrotters condensed into a football player. A one man show, if you will.

    Dom

Never mind resting players. Klopp should be allowed to go home at half-time.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:42 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March

There's a quick VAR check to see if Leonardo Spinazzola should be sent off for a foul on Tariq Lamptey but the decision is no.

Brighton's Pervis Estupinan and Roma's Sardar Azmoun are booked for their roles in the resulting melee.

Aston Villa 1-0 Ajax (Agg: 1-0)

Ajax defender Ahmetcan Kaplan, making only his fifth appearance for the club, is injured and has to be replaced.

But it's former England Under-21 striker Chuba Akpom who comes on for the centre-back. So that means a reshuffle.

A day of hugely mixed emotions for Ollie Watkins. Named in the England squad at 2pm, scores at the Holte End in a massive European tie at 8.25pm and then has to go off injured shortly afterwards.

He gets a fantastic reception from all sides of Villa Park as he is helped off the pitch by Leon Bailey and then heads straight down the tunnel to get medical treatment.

His next target is the Premier League game against West Ham on Sunday, before England's match against Brazil at Wembley on Saturday, 23 March and then again against Belgium three days later.

Gareth Southgate will be anxious, so too Villa fans. Villa desperately need Watkins, but he has already left a huge mark on this cup tie.

  20. Postpublished at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 14 March

Liverpool 4-0 Sparta Prague (Agg: 9-1)

    Bobby Clark looks a player.

Good interchange with Mohamed Salah and the 19-year-old beats his man to then blast the ball at Peter Vindahl. Good save.
