Newcastle 0-0 Everton
Arguably James Tarkowski should do better as he gets up to meet a free-kick into the box but heads over from six yards out.
Good couple of minutes for Everton, however.

Nottingham Forest 0-0 Fulham
The first real chance of the game goes Fulham's way as Andreas Pereira tries his luck from distance. The shot is well hit but Matz Sels is behind it all the way.
Newcastle 0-0 Everton
Newcastle have started strongly but Everton have a good opportunity as the ball is worked to Abdoulaye Doucoure on the edge of the area, but he's unable to add to his six goals this season as he smashes well over.

A brilliant atmosphere at St James' Park with the Newcastle fans buoyed by that thrilling 4-3 comeback win over West Ham last time out.
Everton supporters have not seen their team win in all of 2024 and some fans have had a delayed journey on the train, with a track fault near Leeds and resulting track inspection leading to a delay of almost two hours for some fans. Will the effort be worth it?
Ex-Sunderland keeper Jordan Pickford is getting very, very loudly booed every time he touches the ball, and he's already had to make one good save. It could be a busy evening for him.

Roger: I think I would be starting Richarlison over Werner
Chelsea: Must win for Spurs tonight, top four beckons but only with a positive front foot game. Keeping the pressure on Villa will reap its reward
Nottingham Forest 0-0 Fulham
Fulham have an early corner to defend as Nottingham Forest - just outside the relegation zone as things stand - look to grab an early lead.
Chris Wood is the obvious target for the delivery by Morgan Gibbs-White but the ball sails over everyone.
Newcastle 0-0 Everton
A chance for Harvey Barnes already!
Newcastle have attacked with pace and purpose from the off and the ball is worked to Barnes inside the box, but his shot from close range is well blocked Jordan Pickford.

It is always an interesting indicator around this time of the season, 29-30 games in, you see which sides have conceded a lot of goals.and have a negative goal difference. That usually correlates with them getting relegated.
That is just the fact of it, you concede a lot of goals you will lose games of football.
Nottingham Forest with 52 goals conceded, -16 goal difference, they need to be getting a bit tighter. They are slipping closer to Luton Town. Of course at the end of the season if you end up level on points a poor goal difference could end up being a massive problem for teams like Forest.
Right, the first batch of games are up and running - with kick off in the fixtures in Newcastle and Nottingham.

Everton should be taking more points than they are getting at the minute.
You look at the possession they have had in recent games, 50% at Bournemouth, 49% at Man United, 63% at Crystal Palace, and they have been playing fairly well. But from all that, just one point.
But another problem with the statistics is that despite not looking bad defensively, have a look at the goals scored, it is terrible.Only Sheffield United have scored less than them. Therein lies the big problem.

Perhaps I am a person of simple tastes but I'll never fail to laugh at people running in these inflatable T-Rex costumes.
It also makes me very happy that the T-Rex World Championships is a thing., external

Some good quotes from Newcastle defender Dan Burn in today's matchday programme on the team's hopes for the rest of the season and their chances of qualifying for Europe.
He writes: "This whole season has been one of fine margins. We've been good for large parts of it, but playing in the Champions League and going far in two cup competitions means we're at the very top of the game now. It has been a tough season, but an amazing season. Things could have been a lot different but everyone's still very positive.
"We know there's a chance we can still finish in a European place and we're not a million miles away from where we need to be
"Without being disrespectful to any of the teams that we're playing, I think it's a decent fixture list. Our mentality has never changed and we believe we can beat anyone so we go into the game with that attitude. It is fine margins, but we have a real chance to move into next season with a good, positive end to this one."

David Moyes appears to have got up on the wrong side of bed on the day he wrote his programme notes for tonight's game.
Referees come in for his particular ire, with Moyes referencing controversial calls in their last home game - the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.
"We have found more than a few decisions in recent matches tough to accept," writes Moyes. "We don't see a great deal of improvement or change and, like lots of football people, we find much of today's officiating difficult to understand."
The notes were written before Saturday's 4-3 loss at Newcastle, meaning West Ham's defensive failings escape mention.
Bournemouth v Crystal Palace (19:45 BST)
We might be in British Summer Time but it's chucking it down in Bournemouth.
The Cherries are bang in form and are eyeing a top-half finish for only the second time after three wins in the past four games.
Palace's season has been as miserable as the weather.
They have been unable to string a winning run together and have had a change of managers, while their campaign has been peppered with too many costly late goals conceded.

Everton have had a couple of good opportunities to take home the three points in recent weeks and they've conceded last minute equaliser and not seen the job through.
The one thing that they can do is do the job on the pitch, pick up the points and then any points deductions wouldn't matter.
But as it stands it has been very twitchy. It has been twitchy for a long time, all season really. It is difficult when you don't know what's going on off the pitch.

There is just one change to the West Ham team which started the defeat at Newcastle on Easter Saturday - and it comes in goal.
Alphonse Areola has been ruled out due to the groin problem that forced him off at St. James' Park, so Lukasz Fabianski starts.
Kalvin Phillips, the subject of much scrutiny and ire from West Ham fans for his performances, is on the bench again.
West Ham XI: Fabianski; Coufal, Mavropanos, Zouma, Emerson; Ward-Prowse, Soucek; Bowen, Paqueta, Kudus; Antonio
Subs: Anang, Johnson, Cresswell, Phillips, Cornet, Ings, Ogbonna, Earthy, Mubama
Ange Postecoglou makes three changes to the Spurs XI which started their 2-1 comeback win over Luton at the weekend.
Micky Van de Ven starts at centre back, Rodrigo Bentancur plays in midfielder and Brennan Johnson begins on the wing.
Radu Dragusin, Pape Matar Sarr and Dejan Kulusevski all drop to the bench.
Spurs XI:Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Bissouma; Johnson, Maddison, Werner; Son
Subs: Austin, Hojbjerg, Dragusin, Richarlison, Royal, Lo Celso, Kulusevski, Sarr, Davies
Burnley v Wolves (19:45 BST)
Burnley have won two of their last 17 Premier League home games, keeping just one clean sheet in that run.
It's relegation form for Vincent Kompany's side but there is a little hope having gone three games unbeaten.
A 2-2 draw at Chelsea last Saturday was particularly pleasing given they came from behind twice.
They beat Brentford the week before following a draw at West Ham so can Burnley start crawling points back and move up the table?
They are four points off safety, albeit with a considerably worse goal difference than Nottingham Forest, so a win today would be huge.
Wolves on the otherhand are comfortably safe and sat 10th at the start of the day.
But Gary O'Neil's side are at risk of losing back-to-back top-flight fixtures for the first time since December.

Picking has beens over young players is regressive football from Dyche. If I was an up and coming player like Patterson and Young was being chosen ahead of me week after week I would be asking for a transfer in the summer

Burnley v Wolves (19:45 BST)
Wolves were pretty limp in their defeat against Aston Villa and although their boss Gary O'Neil was right when he pointed out they were missing some key attacking players, the problem for him is if they are still without them at Turf Moor.
Matheus Cunha is apparently close to a return after his hamstring injury, which will give them a boost up front, but I still feel like Burnley will give them a good game.
The Clarets were really hard done by against Chelsea, starting with the penalty awarded against them - which was a disgrace because I thought Mykhailo Mudryk dived - and followed by dismissals for Lorenz Assignon and manager Vincent Kompany,
But they still picked up a point and are now on their best run of results of the season with two draws and a win from their past three games.
They are only four points away from safety and a win here would be massive for them, but I don't think they will quite manage it. Still, even a draw would keep them in touch with the teams immediately above them.
Prediction: 1-1
