Jeers as Dominik Szoboszlai goes to ground after a challenge by Kyle Walker. That gives Liverpool a free-kick which they will be thankful of after City's busy start.

Then a poor clearance by Ederson almost gifts Liverpool a chance in front of the Kop.

It's very unlikely but I really hope it keeps going at this pace. It has been end to end. Neither team is coming here for a draw, that's for certain.

Some smooth Manchester City attacks in the first couple of minutes.

It's Manchester City who settle quickly and Phil Foden is driving towards the Liverpool defence before Virgil van Dijk sticks out his foot and makes a fine challenge.

KhanKarn: Only four players who start today started in the 1-1 draw at the Etihad earlier in the season. Shows you how weak this line-up is for Liverpool but the kids have done well so far and hopefully Quansah (only his 6th start) can step up to Haaland.

It surprises me it's that bad, but we lost games here when we used to come to Anfield.

You never have it easy here there is an aura about this place, the game can be taken away from you in a 10-to-15 minute period.
