    Leeds 1-1 Hull City

Luton loanee Ryan Giles' night is over for Hull City.

The full-back looks to have pulled his groin.

Matty Jacob is on in his stead.

A real blow for the Tigers that as Giles was having a decent game for my money.

  4. 'Leeds aren't pressing well enough'published at 21:13 British Summer Time 1 April

    Leeds 1-1 Hull City

    Neil Redfearn
Former Leeds manager on BBC Radio Leeds

Leeds have got to get the ball to Summerville on the left, he's got the beating of Slater.

They are pressing higher up the pitch after half-time but Hull keep getting out. They're not pressing well enough.

I think Meslier had that covered but that's not far wide from Philogene. It's good football, to be fair.

And now Hull City go close again.

They move the ball quickly to dangerman Jaden Philogene on their left.

The ex-Aston Villa man comes inside and sends a right footed shot just round the post from 22 yards.

Leeds, possibly with some strong words from boss Daniel Farke ringing in their ears, start the second half on the front foot.

Sam Byram flashes a cross across the face of the six-yard box that gets the fans off their seats and raises the levels inside Elland Road another notch.

  7. 'City can go on and win this'published at 21:09 British Summer Time 1 April

    Leeds 1-1 Hull City

    Peter Swan
Former Hull City player on BBC Radio Humberside

If they continue to play like they did in the first half there's no reason why they can't go on and win this. Leeds have played in bits but City have been the better team.

They could have been 2-0 down but it didn't faze them, they have been brave, just as they were at Southampton, just as they were at Leicester.

  8. Second halfpublished at 21:07 British Summer Time 1 April

    Leeds 1-1 Hull City

Back under way at Elland Road.

The current top two Ipswich and Leicester both came back from behind to win earlier on.

Leeds saw their early lead cancelled out before the break, can they find a second wind and a second goal?

  9. 'You have to enjoy moments like this'published at 21:03 British Summer Time 1 April

    FT: Ipswich 3-2 Southampton

Ipswich boss Kieran McKennaImage source, Rex Features

Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is pretty darn pleased with his side following their late win over 10-man Southampton.

His side moved top and will remain there this evening as the best Leeds can do in this late game against Hull is move second with victory.

"I feel really proud of the effort everyone put in there, you have to enjoy moments like that, what a game to be a part of," McKenna told BBC Radio Suffolk.

"There were so many good things in the performance and so much to improve, it was a real step up for us in quality to play a team like that.

"All of the subs has a great impact, it’s the sign of our culture.

"All of our players and staff are joyous in the dressing room, we have to enjoy it."

Anon: Why are Leeds sitting back inviting Hull to attack them, this is the second match running that Leeds have shown no urgency to attack and take the initiative!

Leeds fan Stroud: My 2 hour flight is about to take off with no WiFi. Can I survive the stress of landing

Steve in Darlington: Half time Bamford off Kamara off (what does he do anyway?) Joseph up front and Anthony into midfield. Otherwise automatic promotion is gone.

Keep your thoughts on the match so far coming. Hull City fans, think your side could come away with the win this evening after that first half?

  11. 'Credit to Hull City'published at 20:54 British Summer Time 1 April

    HT: Leeds 1-1 Hull City

    Neil Redfearn
Former Leeds manager on BBC Radio Leeds

It's a strange one for Leeds. Throughout the season they have been a transition team. They are being asked to do something different tonight because of Hull City. You have to give them credit.

Leeds have had the better of the chances. Let's not run away with the idea it's been all Hull City, because Leeds have had the best chances, but they've had a lot of the ball. A lot. The Leeds midfield has not been in it.

Sentiment has to go out the window, I'd have Bamford off at half-time. If you can't do it, someone else comes on and does.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:50 British Summer Time 1 April

    Leeds 1-1 Hull City

Fabio Carvalho celebrates for Hull CityImage source, Rex Features

All-square after an intense first 45 minutes at Elland Road.

The home side took an early lead when full-back Sam Byram headed in a rebound from close range.

Hull City had the better of possession but should have fallen 2-0 down when Patrick Bamford shinned over from four yards out.

The Tigers then found their teeth with a clinical finish from Liverpool loanee Fabio Carvalho to draw level.

No away team has won in West Yorkshire since Tottenham in May 2023.

The Tigers are well in with a chance to end that run tonight but Leeds boss Daniel Farke will be confident his promotion-chasing side have what it takes to step it up after the interval.

    PINBALL!!!

Leeds keep the ball after a corner is half-cleared and Georginio Rutter tests Ryan Allsop's reflexes twice in quick succession.

it comes back to Crysencio Summerville and he looks to steer an effort into the vacant part of the game but, rather summing up his evening thus far, Patrick Bamford gets in the way of his team-mates shot and is offside.

  14. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Leeds 1-1 Hull City

We're into three minutes of time added on as Ryan Giles comes forward down the Hull City left and blasts the ball in the general direction of the goal.

    Not a great effort.

  15. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Leeds 1-1 Hull City

The Tigers continue to look the most likely to get the next goal in this game.

Leeds boss Daniel Farke is going to want to get his side in at half-time without this getting worse.

  16. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Leeds 1-1 Hull City

The home side win their first corner of the night after a bit of scrappy play nearly sees Junior Firpo bundle a shot in.

Dan James swings it in to the near post and Ozan Tufan leathers it clear.

  17. Postpublished at 39 mins

The away side are looking the sharper out there just now.

They're moving the ball around with some real confidence and intent now they're level.

    Leeds holding on a bit.

  18. 'It was coming... and it's deserved'published at 20:38 British Summer Time 1 April

    Leeds 1-1 Hull City

    Peter Swan
Former Hull City player on BBC Radio Humberside

I said it were coming, you could feel it. The attitude has been brilliant. Carvalho gets across the keeper, gets the deftest of touches, and they're back in the game.

It's richly deserved, 100%. City look the better team, they have all game apart from two Leeds chances. It's a good game.

    Well, well, WELL!!!

Superb work from Hull City's two Liverpool loanees.

Tigers forward Jaden Philogene gets Hull's first shot of the night off but it's blocked by a Leeds defender.

Tyler Morton comes steaming in to pick up the loose ball and charges into the area down the Hull left.

He clips a ball into the box and there's Fabio Carvalho making a run to the near post and finishing with real class.

    Game on!

  20. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Leeds 1-0 Hull City

Hull City are totally monopolising possession out there just now but they're yet to really threaten, whereas whenever Leeds get on the ball it looks like something is going to happen.
