    Republic of Ireland 0-2 England

    Aine O'Gorman
Former Republic of Ireland defender on RTE

Lucy Quinn and Heather Payne worked tirelessly and had a hard job trying to defend and attack. With Megan Campbell on, Katie McCabe will push up and hopefully Leanne Kiernan can add some energy.

Now Campbell has the chance to send in a throw from level with the England box. Keira Walsh is forced to head it over her own bar.

England survive this onslaught, but there is clearly a major new weapon they have to defend against now.

    Republic of Ireland 0-2 England

Megan Campbell has a giant long throw on her, and her first action in the game is to pick up the ball around 40 yards from goal and chuck it deep into the area.

England get it clear, but there were huge cheers from the crowd for that.

    Republic of Ireland 0-2 England

Another double sub, this time for the hosts.

Heather Payne and Lucy Quinn come off, Megan Campbell and Leanne Kiernan are on.

Beth Mead gets on the ball for the first time down the left - but is flagged offside.

Based on her facial expression and hand gestures, she strongly disagrees with the call.

  6. 'England's depth is frightening'published at 20:45 British Summer Time 9 April

    Republic of Ireland 0-2 England

    Niamh Fahey
    Liverpool midfielder on ITV

The depth England have is frightening and then when you think they might be weakening a team by bringing two players on, they are strengthening it.

Seeing Beth Mead come on is a defender's nightmare.

    Republic of Ireland 0-2 England

England get a free kick 30 yards from the Irish goal after a cynical Kyra Carusa foul, and take it quickly.

The hosts react well and Ella Toone's shot from the edge of the box is blocked.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 56 mins

    Republic of Ireland 0-2 England

Double change for England - Fran Kirby and Beth Mead coming on. Now that's attacking experience off the bench.

Man City duo Jess Park and Lauren Hemp come off. Gareth Taylor will be pleased.

Sweden boss Peter Gerhardsson said on Friday they had a plan to stop Keira Walsh and it worked.

Tonight, the Republic of Ireland have not been able to stop her. She has ran the show.

The Irish continue to be poor in possession, with another aimless long ball through to Hannah Hampton.

Republic of Ireland are doing well at winning the ball back; much less so when they actually have it.

Not too worrying actually, James is up and about.

Lauren James has gone down here, holding her left ankle, after a Katie McCabe special.

Worrying times for England and Chelsea.

  13. 'Wiegman will want more of the same'published at 20:36 British Summer Time 9 April

    Republic of Ireland 0-2 England

    Siobhan Chamberlain
Ex-England and Man Utd goalkeeper on ITV

I think England were clinical when they had the opportunities and were patient in possession.

When they had chances to press they did so and forced Republic of Ireland into errors.

I think Sarina Wiegman will want more of the same.

Not much to report from the early stages of the second half.

The Irish continue to try and build from the back, but are being stifled by the English press.

  15. 'Williamson brings calm, patient possession'published at 20:34 British Summer Time 9 April

    Republic of Ireland 0-2 England

    Eni Aluko
    Former England forward on ITV

    Calm, patient, possession.

This is when you know England are in their groove. One-touch football and keeping it simple. That is what Leah Williamson brings.

  16. 'Industrious Connolly brings fresh legs'published at 20:33 British Summer Time 9 April

    Republic of Ireland 0-2 England

    Aine O'Gorman
Former Republic of Ireland defender on RTE

Megan Connolly was unfortunate to be left out, she is industrious in midfield and has a good relationship with Denise O'Sullivan. Ruesha Littlejohn started the game positively and tried to make things happen but bringing in Connolly brings fresh legs.

Republic of Ireland need to build on the first half and improve the final ball and get into those counter attacking areas.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 9 April

    Republic of Ireland 0-2 England

Eileen Gleeson has indeed done some work at half-time, with a change in midfield to try and wrest some possession back for the hosts.

Megan Connolly is on, replacing Ruesha Littlejohn.

  18. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 9 April

    Republic of Ireland 0-2 England

    The second half has begun.

  19. Postpublished at 20:31 British Summer Time 9 April

HT: Republic of Ireland 0-2 England

England had 72% possession in the first half. While they are facing more limited opposition tonight, they have kept the ball much better than against Sweden.

It's certainly further fodder for the Jess Park fan club. She has been excellent.

  20. Postpublished at 20:30 British Summer Time 9 April

HT: Republic of Ireland 0-2 England

Republic of Ireland did not register a single shot in that first half.

While they can complain about penalty decisions, they have not kept possession well or been sharp enough in attack.

Plenty for Eileen Gleeson to have worked on at half time.
