    Breakthrough.

Jessica Naz concedes a cynical free kick near the centre circle. From the set piece, Gemma Evans floats a perfect ball towards the edge of the area.

Becky Spencer in the Spurs goal came to try and punch, but got nowhere near as Melvine Malard meets the ball with her head, flicking it over Spencer and into the net.

    • United have lost four of their last nine WSL games, as many defeats as across their prior 39 matches.
    • Tottenham Hotspur have won each of their last two WSL matches via a 1-0 scoreline; they haven’t won three successive matches in the competition since October 2023 and they’ve never won three in succession without conceding before.
    • Nikita Parris has failed to score in her last five WSL appearances after starting the season with eight goals in 12 appearances, only going longer without scoring once in a Manchester United shirt (12 between November 2022 and April 2023.)
    • Grace Clinton has completed more dribbles than any other player in WSL this season - 50. But she is absent for Spurs today...
  14. Le Tissier signs contract extensionpublished at 11:50 British Summer Time 21 April

Manchester United v Tottenham (12.00 BST)

Maya Le Tissier features for Manchester United today having signed a contract extension with the club on Friday afternoon.

England international defender Le Tissier has played every minute of United's Women's Super League campaign so far this season, and has signed a new four-year deal.

The 22-year-old joined in July 2022 from Brighton, and has made 59 appearances and scored three goals so far for the club.

"We want to make Maya a key feature of our team for many years to come," United boss Marc Skinner said.

"Maya is a leader and everybody at the club should be proud that she's decided to sign for us long term. She has the right mentality and the right attitude - and is a perfect role model for the next generation."

Manchester United v Tottenham (12.00 BST)

After historic wins for both sides in the FA Cup semi-finals last weekend, this league encounter now takes on extra significance ahead of the final at Wembley.

A win for Manchester United at Leigh Sports Village would complete a league double over Tottenham this season, and underline their status as cup final favourites.

But United manager Marc Skinner thinks you won't be able to make too many cup final predictions based on today's game.

"Everyone looks at it as a prequel to the final, but for me it is totally different and we treat it differently," Skinner told a media conference on Friday.

"There will be elements where the principles are the same, but a Wembley final is a different feeling. We will have a bit of an advantage from being there last year, but Tottenham will bring their best."

  16. Keating available as City keeper crisis easespublished at 11:45 British Summer Time 21 April

Manchester City v West Ham (14.15 BST)

Manchester City's Khiara Keating is fit to feature in the squad today, averting a goalkeeping crisis for the title chasers.

Keating withdrew from international duty with England because of a knee issue, while back-ups Sandy MacIver and Ellie Roebuck are out for the season.

City have signed Brighton keeper Katie Startup on loan, but manager Gareth Taylor says Keating is available.

"She's fine, she came back from England as a precaution," Taylor said.

"She has an ongoing issue with her knee, but we are managing that. It was also unlikely she would have started for England, so it made no sense to push her too much in training [for the Lionesses].

"She's been back training since the international break, and it was great to get Katie in training from Brighton this week."

    Arsenal v Leicester (14:00 BST)

Jonas Eidevall speaks to his player during trainingImage source, Getty Images

Arsenal must stay on their feet like a famous Olympic speed skating champion if they are to catch up in the Women's Super League, says Jonas Eidevall.

Eidevall said Arsenal would have to emulate Steven Bradbury, who won speed skating gold in 2002 when four rivals crashed on the final corner.

"It's about the mentality to always do your best and to never give up," Eidevall told his media conference on Friday.

"If someone else slips, are you ready? Or have you already given up because you didn't think that was going to happen?

"I think that's a mindset thing. It's so important to always do your best. You can't control what others do. There are a lot of external factors you can't control either. But what you can control are your own actions."

The Gunners are six points off leaders Chelsea, with four games remaining.

Manchester United v Tottenham (12.00 BST)

Grace Clinton has been one of the break-out stars of the WSL this season, playing a key role from midfield in Spurs' push for a top-half finish and reaching their first women's FA Cup final - as well as earning a place in the England squad.

But she is on loan from Manchester United - which means she is unavailable to play today.

  20. What can be resolved today?published at 11:34 British Summer Time 21 April

Manchester City will move back to the top of the WSL if they avoid defeat against West Ham later. Of course, their title battle with Chelsea will continue well after today, regardless of the result.

Arsenal will confirm their place in the Champions League next season if they beat Leicester, and Manchester United fail to beat Tottenham.

United's faint hopes of a top three place will also be over if they do not at least match the Gunners' result today.

At the bottom, Bristol City's relegation will be confirmed if West Ham beat Manchester City.

Leicester City can relax at the Emirates Stadium today - Bristol's defeat to Liverpool yesterday confirmed the Foxes' WSL survival.
