Other than that scrambled Zelem effort off the bar, United have not troubled Spurs this half.

Jess Naz fouls Gemma Evans just outside the Spurs area. United players are asking for a second booking for Naz.

Referee Rebecca Welch spares Naz, for now.

All the Spurs players seem to want Lucia Garcia's shirt. Amanda Nilden is the latest player booked for pulling at the United player.

That's three Spurs players carded in quick succession. They are under mounting pressure.

In an earlier post, I said Marc Skinner has signed a new contract with United. Unfortunately I cannot claim any exclusive news - talks are reportedly still ongoing between United and the club, no contract has been signed.

    Apologies for the error.

Jessica Naz, who has been nagging at United players all day, gets the game's first booking for persistent fouling.

Replays show that Zelem effort came off the bar, incidentally. So close for United.

  8. CLOSE!published at 57 mins

    Manchester United 1-2 Tottenham

United continue to have the bulk of possession, but are yet to really test Becky Spencer this half... until now!

A corner from Gemma Evans causes chaos for Spurs in the six yard area, it drops to Katie Zelem whose shot is just about kept out by a combination of Spencer and the crossbar.

The opening Spurs goal has now been given to Bethany England; it has been decided she got a faint touch on Drew Spence's shot.

It will go down as her second WSL goal of the campaign.

  16. Could it come down to goal difference?published at 13:04 British Summer Time 21 April

Manchester City v West Ham (14.15 BST)

City overturned an early-season blip to win their past 12 WSL games, including a 1-0 success at Chelsea in February, but Chelsea's recovery since then to win four in a row has given them the advantage with a slightly better goal difference.

If goal difference is level at the end of the season, the title outcome will be decided on goals scored - and Chelsea currently lead City 53-49 on that metric.

If teams are level on both goal difference and goals scored, the next deciding factor is the number of league wins, followed by head-to-head record against their title rivals. City would edge a head-to-head against Chelsea, having won away and drawn at home.

  17. Don't underestimate West Hampublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 21 April

Manchester City v West Ham (14:15 BST)

    Adam Millington
    BBC Sport at Joie Stadium

It would be easy to write off West Ham given their position in the table, but doing so would be incorrect.

They've risen to the occasion against some of the 'bigger' teams this season, beating Arsenal and drawing with Manchester United.

While they lost 2-0 to Chelsea in March that scoreline was deceptive with them having a goal incorrectly disallowed and coming close to scoring other chances.

They don't have home advantage on their side this afternoon and they lost 2-0 to Man City early this season, but with the added inspiration of being able to secure safety they definitely won't roll over for City.

  18. One more win...published at 13:00 British Summer Time 21 April

Manchester City v West Ham (14.15 BST)

It has been a very tricky campaign for West Ham, with Rehanne Skinner's side having been battling at the bottom all season.

But they are within touching distance of safety now, with just one more win from their final four matches required to keep them in the top flight for another season.

It may look unlikely that they will get it today at Joie Stadium - but City lost at home to Brighton earlier this season, while West Ham's survival bid was kick-started by beating Arsenal.

One to keep your eyes on later.

  19. Underdogs tag a 'driving force' for Leicester says Fosterpublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 21 April

    Arsenal v Leicester (14:00 BST)

Being labelled underdogs is a "driving force" for Leicester says interim boss Jennifer Foster.

The Foxes narrowly lost their first-ever FA Cup semi-final away to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, with the hosts needing to come from behind late on to win the game.

"People assumed we were the underdog before last weekend and they’ll say the same now. If people want to view us that way than that’s up to them, but we don’t see it that way and that’s what drives us. We just need to focus on ourselves."
