Wolves have played Arsenal at Molineux on five occasions since they returned to the Premier League under Nuno Espirito Santo.

They have managed two wins in that time.

Skipper Maximilian Kilman is the only Wolves survivor from the last occasion, in 2021, when Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho scored in a 2-1 win.

The danger is that in Arsenal's three wins here in that time, Wolves have failed to score.

Form the outside it seems a little bit flat, like City have already won the Premier League title.

But Arsenal and Liverpool have to keep pushing, and hope City drop in performance.

I think City will go all the way. They've been my pick from the start.

  8. 'Going top motivates us'published at 19:22 British Summer Time 20 April

    Wolves v Arsenal (19:30 BST)

While it has been a tough week for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta says his squad are ready to move on quickly.

The knowledge they can go top of the Premier League tonight is what will drive them on at Molineux, according to the Gunners boss.

"It's been an experience, not the best one," Arteta said.

"We're fully focused on the times we have ahead of us with six games to go.

"The context is clear, if we win we go top of the league, you don't need anything else to be motivated."

  9. O'Neil needs to be creative after injuriespublished at 19:21 British Summer Time 20 April

    Wolves v Arsenal (19:30 BST)

Wolves manager Gary O'Neil is without a host of key players tonight, led by Matheus Cunha, Pedro Neto and Nelson Semedo.

"The injuries we've picked up this week are unfortunate. Matheus received a kick on his calf during the Nottingham Forest game and has done a bit of damage to the muscle from the impact.

"Fairly rare, you don't see too many of those, and Semedo came off last weekend and has an overload issue in the muscle around the calf.

"It's not serious, but we're waiting for it to settle down.

""We've also got two other games this week to manage. We're going to need to be creative to try and give the lads the best chance of being successful across the three games."

    Wolves v Arsenal (19:30 BST)

    Chris SuttonImage source, Getty Images

This is a massive game for Arsenal but it definitely helps them that Wolves are on a pretty terrible run, without a win in four games.

The talk this week about the Gunners has been whether the wheels are coming off for Mikel Arteta's side, but I don't think that's the case.

I'm still probably basing this prediction more on Wolves' form than on Arsenal's but I do think the Gunners will find a way to win at Molineux.

I hope they do too, because I don't want Manchester City to have it all their own way in the run-in.

A victory for Arsenal tonight will lift them back to the top of the Premier League table.

Anything less would leave them vulnerable to being gazumped by title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.

After back-to back defeats by Aston Villa and Bayern Munich, Mikel Arteta says his team have to show what they are made of tonight.

"It is what it is and we have to accept it," Arteta added.

"The Bayern one at home at the beginning, it could have been different.

"Against Villa we were the better team, but in the second half we paid the price for the chances we gave them and we have to move on from there.

"Now it is about showing against Wolves what we are made of and turning the situation around."

  14. 'Wolves not easy to beat at Molineux'published at 19:10 British Summer Time 20 April

    Wolves v Arsenal (19:30 BST)

    Nick Mashiter
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Wolves side may be stuttering towards the end of the season after one win in their last six outings but their home form against the top sides has been impressive.

Of the top five, only Liverpool have won at Molineux this season and even then they needed to come from behind with two late goals.

Manchester City and Tottenham have been beaten while Aston Villa only took a point from their Midlands rivals in October.

Extending it to the top seven, Newcastle drew 2-2 while Manchester United needed Kobbie Mainoo’s injury-time winner to snatch a bonkers 4-3 win two months ago.

O’Neil is tactically meticulous, underlined by his team’s near perfect display against City in September’s 2-1 win, and while Wolves may not be in their best form this term few can say they are easy to beat at Molineux.

There have been exceptions, the 4-1 defeat to Brighton in O’Neil’s first home game and a 2-0 loss to Brentford, but his players adapted to his methods quickly and could still claim another scalp on Saturday.

It has been a desperately disappointing week for Arsenal, who were beaten at home by Aston Villa last Sunday when they had chance to go top of the Premier League.

The Gunners followed that up by being knocked out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich.

They cannot afford to drop any points at Molineux this evening and Wolves boss Gary O'Neil knows his side are in for a tough test.

"Everyone understands how good a side Arsenal are," says O'Neil in his programme notes.

"They wouldn't be in a title challenge if they weren't one of the best teams in this country, so they're going to be another really tough test for us.

"We go into every game extremely confident, whilst also being realistic in our approach."

  18. No April sunshine for Wolvespublished at 18:57 British Summer Time 20 April

Wolves have not had any joy in April. It has been all showers and little sunshine.

Gary O'Neil's plans have been hampered by injuries and, as a result, his side have not won any of their past five matches.

The earlier optimism of a European challenge might have faded, but Wolves are still in a very credible 11th place after a season under O'Neil which has defied expectations.

A return to winning ways today would leave them four points shy of sixth-placed Newcastle.

Arsenal's April started with comfortable wins over Luton and Brighton. Five goals, two cleans sheets, six points.

It's taken a sharp turn south since.

A humbling home defeat by Aston Villa last weekend stunned the Emirates Stadium and leaves Manchester City in pole position to win the Premier League title. Again.

That was sandwiched in-between the two legs of a Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich which ended in a bitterly disappointing defeat.

    Premier League

If Arsenal drop points tonight, and against Chelsea on Tuesday, leaders Manchester City could extend their two-point advantage at the top of the table when they play Brighton on Thursday.

Third-placed Liverpool go to Fulham tomorrow and could leapfrog Arsenal if Wolves get something out of this game.
