Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi, talking to BBC Match of the Day: "We have to play much better than we are playing. We would like to give more and more but maybe in this moment it is tough for us. We need to keep motivation in the right way but we need to play seriously for us, our club and our fans."

On whether he had a strong message for his players in the changing room: "No, I have big confidence in them. I know how they feel when we lose a game. We lose together and we have keep going together."

On the rest of the season and getting it back on course: "I hope that working with the players for one complete week means it can be different for us. We have to think about our mistakes and to remember ourselves that we can play better and do something more for for sure."

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It is about the details and how you are focused in every minute, whether that is in transition moments or set-pieces. Against the best you pay a heavy price for it - Arsenal were taking advantage of our lack of detail.

"The goal Bukayo Saka scored we should have dealt with that better. We were focused on the decision at the other end. You cannot do that against top level opposition, we have to feel the pain and use it to hopefully grow."

Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports: "It became a game of chaos but we are lucky to have the keeper we have, he made an individual error but after that the way he played was outstanding, he was magnificent.

"The reality is that anything can happen. Mentally we were really solid, the changes worked and we got it done. For the second half, we thought go out and get the fourth and kill the game.

"We know they will have a lot of good moments, they will create and are coached really well. But to come here two years in a row and do what we have done is a big credit to the team."

Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, speaking to Sky Sports, on the decision to replace Jeremy Doku with Mateo Kovacic at half-time: "We wanted more passes, we cannot survive if we don't have the ball, and Kova helped us with that. After with Kova and Bernardo and the others in there, it was much better."

On the remainder of the season: "Everything can happen, Liverpool have dropped points in the last few games but that can happen to us, can happen to Arsenal, so tough games for everyone. Fulham away and Spurs away will be difficult.

"I would prefer not to have a long week [off] and to play the Champions League semi final but in the circumstances we have two or three days to recover and prepare for all the finals that we have."

Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola, speaking to Sky Sports about whether the win was a complete performance: "Yes, we played really well. Brighton are difficult to play against, they have a lot of ball and you have to keep your composure. We played really well and it was the complete performance.

"We knew we would suffer without the ball but when were able to recover the ball our transition play was good. Our forwards are making the difference."

On Enes Unal: "I am happy. He missed a chance in the first half but he continued to push. He was important in the first goal and he scored the second one. I am happy for him."

On Bournemouth reaching their record points tally: "I am very happy with the 48 points but we have to continue pushing. We have difficult games ahead but we'll try and get as many points as we can and finish as strongly as possible."

On Antoine Semenyo's injury: "I hope it isn't too bad. It is an ugly one, but we won't know the extent just yet."

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I think we did a good game, definitely. Organised, compact, some aspects that we did not do so well. But a lot of offensive situations we could have done better with - it is not easy to create so many of those situations against City at the same time that they control. Disappointed with the result but it was a good performance.

On changing to a back five: "It is easy to explain. We wanted to add an extra body in the box and make the most of Willy Boly who is important for us, and then try to play the counter attack. It is clear for everyone what the plan was.

On Willy Boly's return: "He struggled at times, especially in the last moments of the game. Also Murillo was struggling. Let's see how they are for the next one. It is important that they recover well.

On if taking chances was the difference today: "Yes that is one aspect of it, also when City goes ahead it is very difficult because they keep the ball and don't give you much chances. But the boys worked hard, very, very hard. I am proud. "

Arsenal

Arsenal's Bukayo Saka, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "The ending was horrible, but it was worth it in the end - we are all happy. A big one was set-pieces and we were very clinical when we did get the chances."

On David Raya's mistake: "Massive credit to David he made a mistake, but in the last couple of minutes he was unbelievable. He was was coming and taking all the crosses. He managed to keep his head and it is not easy - big credit to him."

Manchester City

More from Man City boss Pep Guardioa, speaking to BBC Match of the Day on Erling Haaland's return and the absences of others: "It is important that he is back and doing what he does. Kevin found him and it was a really good finish. He was not ready for 90 minutes but it was good for him to be back.

"Ruben [Dias] had a fever and made the effort to go to Brighton but since coming back from there it has gotten worse. And Phil [Foden] said today that he doesn't feel good so that is why he couldn't be with us."

On having six days off: "First have two or three days off, people have to rest and refresh the mind, do a training session, have fun and then prepare the next game against Wolves."

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs captain Son Heung-min, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We could have come back after 3-2.

"I think we had a good chance and a good opportunity.

"Especially in those games if you concede goals like that it's difficult and painful.

"They were clinical and strong in the air. We had a lot of opportunties, hitting the post and having a disallowed goal.

"As I said before when you concede goals like this you have to be strong."

On conceding twice from a set piece: "As I said before it was a big game and we had to be strong at set-pieces.

"Obviously they are good, but I think everyone has to step up.

"Now we have to work on set-pieces and stay strong and go again."

Man City are just an outfit who know how to win matches, they know what they need to do.

The ball was very lively and it caused City a few problems, but credit to Forest's tactics. They were good and they caught City on the break.

For an hour Forest gave them a very good game.

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espírito Santo, speaking to Sky Sports: "We played a good game, were compact, organised and had chances. We did a good job regarding how hard it is to play against Manchester City, and the players gave it a big go. With this attitude, we will achieve what we want.

"We are disappointed with the result, the encouragement comes from the way we work, how committed we are, and what we have ahead of us. This is more important. We stay positive and we go for the next three games.

"The performance today, and before, we are working very hard, but missing important moments also in the defensive aspect in the games and set pieces, but we are giving it a go. It is important we keep producing because we trust that the final touch will come."

On Chris Wood and Forest's missed chances: "We could have done better. Chris is one of the best strikers in the Premier League, we trust him and he will deliver for sure."

Chris Waddle

Erling Haaland is a goalscorer, simple as that.

He isn't known for his link-up play, dribbling or skills - he is a goal scorer and that is what he is good at.

It was a good finish and he passed it into the bottom corner, with him coming back he will probably be the difference.

Man City goalscorer Josko Gvardiol, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I am more than happy to score one more goal in this difficult game to help the team. Also a great ball from Kevin [de Bruyne], we know his qualities.

"I am more happy about getting the three points, and finally we have six days to rest and recover well and prepare for the next one."

On playing a more advanced role today: "At the beginning it was one idea then the manager changed it after half an hour, then again at half time he made a change back to do the same as at the beginning of the game.

"To be fair I was a bit lost because I did not know exactly what he wanted from me but he was much clearer after at half time.

On the result not showing how tough the game was: "Yes the result looks like the match was pretty easy but the conditions were really tough, especially the pitch. The grass was really dry, which is what we expected before the game. And I get it because they were also fighting for the points. But as I said it was difficult but at the end of the day three points back home.

On if there is pressure playing second: "If you ask me not really no. They have played one game more than us so all we need is to go game by game. The end of the season is coming soon and we need to be 100% focussed.

On this part of the season being City's time of year: "I have heard it a lot yes. It is my first season, it is really difficult, it is really stressful, but that is why I am here. I am really enjoying it and hopefully we are going to win it but there are still four games to play."

Manchester City boss Pep Guardioa, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It was more than hard. Such a difficult game but we knew that. The game we played in Brighton feels like a few hours ago so it is always difficult.

"Coming here Liverpool won in the 99th minute, Arsenal won 2-1, so it is always difficult to come here. A difficult game, we suffered a lot but yeah at the end we take it."

On the best things about the performance: "We defended the box really good. Especially with with Manu [Akanji], Nathan [Ake] and Josko [Gvardiol]. Then in the last half an hour when Bernardo [Silva] comes inside with Kova [Kovacic] we controlled the game more. We are a team that survives with the ball. It is a lot of games and we knew today would be difficult for many reasons. But we take the win and move forward.

On playing second behind rivals in the title race: "The pressure is how you play. if you play good and control the game then people say you don't feel the pressure, if you play bad people say you feel the pressure.

"In certain moments we suffered. We were lucky today the pitch was so dry, because the chances they missed that was the reason why. We were lucky today that the pitch was in these conditions."

For Nottingham Forest, their battle against the drop continues. Chris Wood missed two golden chances and they could not pull away from the bottom three.

They can cling to a positive performance but it failed to earn any points. Nuno Espirito Santo has been unable to inspire them in 2024 and it is now just two wins in their last 15 top flight games.

This Sunday there cannot be any complaints about referees and decisions and Forest cannot rely on anyone else for survival but themselves.

A trip to relegated Sheffield United is next. They need a repeat performance but must add a killer touch.

Peteb: The most frustrating thing about that from a Forest perspective is that some of our players seem to turn it on when we play top tier teams. Watch us be awful again next week.

Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a difficult game, they played with bravery. They have fast players with a lot of quality so we found a goal in the moment when it was 10 against 11.

"It is a great victory as we had a lot of games behind us. Now we have a long week to recover.

"The game changed when Bernardo [Silva] came inside and made a lot of passes. It was difficult because the opponents were so tough, aggressive. These game are so, so tough at this stage in the Premier League."
