...and the middle sector...
Nico Rosberg is fastest of all through the first sector...
We shall see if Nico Rosberg is truly OK then, because he's back out already.
Four minutes left on the clock.

Rosberg is going to have to do a great lap to beat the one just set by Ricciardo.

Rosberg had an electronic error on first lap, Mercedes say. But will be OK for his final run
Daniel Ricciardo bumps his team-mate Max Verstappen down to third as he goes second quickest with 1:14.726.
Kimi Raikkonen is third, with Sebastian Vettel fourth and the Force Indias of Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg sixth and seventh respectively after round one.

I think this will be a two horse race. I don't see anyone outside of Lewis or Nico being on the front of the grid.
Lewis Hamilton goes quickest with a 1:14.486 and he is sixth tenths of a second faster than the next quickest man - Max Verstappen.
Why did Nico Rosberg not at least get a banker in? All or nothing for him now.

It's come down to the final minute of qualifying. That's the key period.
Sebastian Vettel sets the first time, clocking a 1:15.619. Nico Rosberg is on a good lap...but he backs out of it and pits. Not sure why he aborted that having looked good...
It's going to be about fine margins all through the top 10.
Everyone is out for their first laps, super-softs across the board.
Here we go then - the battle for pole position is under way.
Fernando Alonso was straight out of the McLaren garage, and I'm pretty certain it wasn't to get first dibs on the left over cake from his birthday yesterday. He's fuming after feeling Sebastian Vettel held him up.

This is the highlight of the weekend for me. Now we see what the drivers are all about.
No surprise to see Mercedes in a league of their own again but interestingly less than a second separated the top 10 in Q2.
It's going to be close!

I don't know what Ferrari were playing at. Why did they send Vettel out when they knew he wouldn't have enough time to complete a lap?!
