Now you face the problem you have Vettel stuck in the pitlane and both Mercedes stuck in the pitlane. They are all going to be fighting for the same bit of track space. Is it better to go early and guarantee a bit of track space? That is what all the teams have to weigh up right now.
1) Hamilton 2) Rosberg 3) Ricciardo 4) Verstappen 5) Vettel 6) Alonso 7) Button 8) Sainz 9) Hulkenberg 10) Bottas
Meanwhile, Sebastian Vettel slots into fifth. It is looking like, as expected, a battle between the Mercedes and Red Bulls for pole position.
Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg are having another go. Can either improve? Nico Rosberg does, but only marginally and he stays second. Back to the pits they go to bolt on a new set of super softs.
As it stands it is:
1) Hamilton 2) Rosberg 3) Ricciardo 4) Verstappen 5) Sainz 6) Hulkenberg 7) Button 8) Alonso.
Sebastian Vettel and Valtteri Bottas have left it late, but are out now for their flying laps.
Daniel Ricciardo has a mega wobble towards the end of his lap and can only go third quickest, half a second down on Lewis Hamilton's time.
Nico Rosberg is the first to cross the line and does a 1:20.499 but Lewis Hamilton goes quicker! A 1:20.108 - the fastest lap we've seen so far this weekend.
Lewis Hamilton is quicker than Nico Rosberg through the first sector, but not by much, nine thousandths of a second between them. No margin for error.
The Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen was the headline casualty of that session. The Finn enjoys his best backing of the season from his countrymen at this race, but they will have been disappointed to see the 2007 world champion come up short there.
Raikkonen and Ferrari got their timing all wrong, meaning he had one lap fewer on the slick tyre on the drying track than his rivals.
We've almost made it! What feels like the longest qualifying session in the history of F1 is into the crucial top 10 shootout.
We're 12 minutes away from finding out who will be on pole.
And breathe!
What a session of qualifying that was! Lewis Hamilton scrapes through by the skin of his teeth, a tenth of the second the difference between him and being eliminated.
1) Verstappen 2) Rosberg 3) Ricciardo 4) Alonso 5) Hulkenberg 6) Vettel 7) Button 8) Sainz 9) Sainz 10) Hamilton
11) Grosjean 12) Kvyat 13) Perez 14) Raikkonen 15) Gutierrez 16) Nasr
The last laps are coming in and Lewis Hamilton is being pushed down the order. He could be in trouble here.
Daniel Ricciardo comes round, and leaps up to third but Hamilton scrapes through in 10th! Lucky, lucky boy.
Daniel Ricciardo is in trouble. He's down in 16th and locks up to go straight on at the first corner, scuppers his lap. He's only got one shot at this now.
"Push on this lap, mate," Ricciardo is told.
Lewis Hamilton completes a lap on the supersofts but it is half a second slower than Fernando Alonso's effort. A great lap by the Spaniard.
They've got enough time to squeeze in another couple of laps maximum.
