Max Verstappen exits stage left as Sebastian Vettel, flanked by a load of Ferrari folk, continues what it is effectively a lap of honour to the pre-podium room.

He gets there, huffing and puffing, before shaking Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton's hands.

Andrew Thatcher: Championship very much alive. Still a real chance for Lewis Hamilton! 

Will Kavanagh: Lewis' win is a consolation. Nico will finish in the top 2 in the last 2 races. Hold the celebrations, please.  

Steve Gowland: Wow. Seb Vettel has snapped, well and truly! I do think Max gained an advantage and will lose the place ... but, still!  

Max Verstappen is in the pre-podium room, but he's going to have to make a slightly awkward exit as Sebastian Vettel legs it to join Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.

Hamilton is clearly on a roll and closing in. Hamilton is doing everything to put pressure on his team-mate.

Now then. Race control confirms a five second penalty for Max Verstappen. Sebastian Vettel finished 0.9s behind so that means he will be promoted to third.

I think it is pretty poor form for Sebastian Vettel to say what he said over the radio and for it to get picked up and be broadcast around the world.

Sebastian Vettel is going absolutely berserk over the radio, swerving over to Max Verstappen gesticulating at the driver who finishes third - Vettel has lost his marbles.

Nico Rosberg takes second place and Max Verstappen crosses the line third, but a penalty could be coming his way for his pass on Sebastian Vettel. 

Vettel is still fuming, he wags his finger as he passes the Red Bull after crossing the line.

Lewis Hamilton has been on point all weekend and he signs off with a comfortable victory - his eighth of the season. The title battle goes on to Brazil!

Ali Bratt: So if Verstappen has to concede the position why didn't Hamilton have to at the start  

Sean Harrison: Ah, finally! #MexicoGP, external has gotten interesting  

Lewis Hamilton starts the last lap. Unless there is any late drama, the win is his.

A little bit of bumping there and Sebastian Vettel will be furious about what just happened. Unfortunately it means the gaps have opened back up again.

Ahead of the action, Lewis Hamilton is cruising. There's 8.8 seconds between himself and Nico Rosberg.

Verstappen knows what he is doing he, he is slowing Vettel down to give the opportunity to Ricciardo. 

It is all going on now! Sebastian Vettel is chuntering away about Max Verstappen over the radio but he doesn't spot Daniel Ricciardo sneaking down the inside of the Ferrari. There's a clank of wheels at Turn 4, but Vettel holds on.

Vettel is still angry. He had a very sweary message for race director Charlie Whiting. Tut tut.

Now we are going and Daniel Ricciardo has really benefited from that. He has closed right up nearly to the back of Vettel.

The team radio says he has to give that position to Vettel, I'm not sure he will be too happy about that.

Max Verstappen gets the message to give back the position but the Dutchman isn't doing that just yet. 

"Move! Move! For BEEP sake," says Sebastian Vettel. 

Stewards confirm the incident involving the pair is under investigation.
