Jack of all Trades: Has to be the best #SpanishGP, external I have watched in many years.

Can't argue with that. I've really enjoyed pretty much every race this season. Bodes well for the rest of the year.

  2. 'Incredible drive'published at 14:50 British Summer Time 14 May 2017

Mercedes chairman Niki Lauda: It was good. Lewis saved the race with an incredible drive. The strategy was great, but it was the driver who won it. I only feel sorry for Bottas whose engine blew up.

Daniel Ricciardo finished 70 seconds behind the winner and 40 seconds ahead of the Force Indias. They are the third fastest team and that does not look like changing.

Their body language seemed OK. Lewis Hamilton just looked too exhausted to talk.

Anyway, he's got his breath back and up to the podium they go.

I will be interested to see the body language between Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton when they are out of their cars. The Briton was upset by Vettel's move on him into turn one.

"I was eight seconds ahead and then... I don't know how we managed to lose that. I dunno," Sebastian Vettel says to Daniel Ricciardo.

"You... were alone," adds Vettel. True, Ricciardo was trundling along all by himself in third.

"Fantasitc job, guys. What can I say? Strategy was totally on point," says Lewis Hamilton before parking up and climbing out of his car.

There's no leaping about for joy. He looks absolutely shattered as he makes his way to the pre-podium room and slumps into a chair. I'm exhausted just looking at him.

Hamilton has had every emotion under the sun in this race. He started on pole, lost the lead at the first corner, and then clawed it back via a brilliant strategic move.

Brilliant win by Lewis Hamilton, the 55th of his career. He sounded flustered and exhausted at times but in the end kept his cool to take victory.

Good work by Fernando Alonso as he heads off to Indy 500 with a first finish of the season in the bag. He turned up the wick in the final few laps to climb to 12th.

Go get that man another jamon.

Did we ever doubt the longevity of the soft tyre?

That is a great positive for the Mercedes team, because we have heard a lot about how the Ferrari is more gentle on the tyres. It seems Mercedes have made a great leap forward in that area.

Disaster for Kevin Magnussen. He was on course for a top-10 finish but has got a puncture and is dropping down the field.

Mercedes have tweaked things this season and Hamilton's start engineer is doing some races from the pit wall and some from home.

You wonder if that might be behind his patchy starts so far in 2017.

Fastest lap of the race by Lewis Hamilton. He's got this one in the bag.

    Two laps to go.

Pascal Wehrlein is on course for a top 10 finish. He's seventh, more than 10 seconds clear of 10th, meaning the five-second time penalty he will have applied at the end of the race won't drop him out of it.
