It is going to be fascinating to see how the soft tyres hold up for Lewis Hamilton. And whether Sebastian Vettel can use the DRS zone down into turn one to get back past him.

Plan C - which was just mentioned over the Ferrari radio - is probably pitting Vettel, putting him on soft tyres and giving him a run at Hamilton.

Vettel has a minute on Daniel Ricciardo behind him so he could change tyres twice without being danger of sacrificing second.

"How about Plan C," Sebastian Vettel's race engineer asks.

Tense times on the track but in the Ferrari hospitality area there's a lovely moment. A young Ferrari fan was earlier seen on camera in tears after Kimi Raikkonen's race came to an early end.

Raikkonen has come over to the kid now and put an arm around him. He's beaming with joy. That's made his day.

Not too many battles further down the field at the moment. Carlos Sainz looks the most likely to gain a place anytime soon. He's half a second behind Pascal Wehrlein, who is currently seventh.

"It's not easy to pull away from him," says Lewis Hamilton. He has pulled away, although not by much. He's gained two tenths of a second on Sebastian Vettel.

Daniel Ricciardo, meanwhile, is on course for a place on the podium. He's currently third with massive gaps ahead and behind him.

  7. Hamilton on the edgepublished at Lap 48/66

    Lewis Hamilton sounds worried.

"I've got to get some distance away from him," he says. "He (Vettel) is going to be quicker at the end."

Hamilton's advantage is currently 1.6 seconds.

Pascal Wehrlein has been hit with a five second time penalty for failing to stay on the right side of the pit entry bollard. That's going to be costly with Wehrlein currently seventh. Could drop him out of the top 10.

It was a sensational pass from Lewis Hamilton. If Vettel can stay with Hamilton however the race will come towards the Ferrari as Hamiton's softer tyres start to degrade.

Vettel needs to keep his chin up.
