Twenty minutes left. Lewis Hamilton still leads, as he has done for nearly 40 minutes.
Brendon Hartley locks up coming into turn 1, he is sliding uncontrollably heading towards the barriers and luckily for him stops just short before crashing. He may well have just got away with that one.
"I spun on the entry to turn one," says New Zealander Hartley.

Brian Tuck: Overlooking turn 17 & 18 at present and Lewis looks awesome.
Could do with some fans-view pictures then Brian, please.

Joanna Harran: Fernando A+ Some superb drives despite a poor car. Roll on next year. (I’m lying on a beach in Tenerife enjoying the commentary).

Hamilton is pushing to improve his own time, but pushing a bit too much on that lap as he locks up coming into turn 17 and he goes a bit wide. No harm done though.
We have most of the leaders out on track, looking to nudge their times down.
Remember, Lewis Hamilton's mark of 1:37.877 is still the one the others are chasing.

Renault are hoping to jump over Toro Rosso this weekend and secure sixth in the constructors championship. Carlos Sainz is currently 13th, Nico Hulkenberg is ninth, compared to 15th and 19th from the Toro Rosso pair of Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley respectively.
An early advantage for Renault and there is big money to play for this weekend. If either of those teams slip up, Haas could still jump to sixth in the constructors, but their two drivers are two of the slowest five so far in this session.

Esteban Ocon has jumped up to seventh in the Force India, but it has not been a session to remember so far for his team-mate Sergio Perez. He is seventh in the world championships, but only 14th in the session.
Just over 40 minutes to go and this is how the top is looking...
Sarcasm from Daniel Ricciardo... who is unimpressed with Romain Grosjean.
It has been a tough day for the Frenchman. He kissed a wall in session one and has already spun in session two.

Jennifer Harris: WEH another C-. Yet another driver who was predicted to do wonders and has done nothing. STR I'll rate B+, showing promise despite people saying he had to buy his way in.
So far in this session, Stroll is 12th and Wehrlein 16th, but he is one place ahead of Sauber team-mate Marcus Ericsson, who is out of contract at the end of the season and sweating on his F1 future.

This is a very hard track on braking, one of the hardest of the year. The cars are heavier than they have ever been this year.
Some good stuff from Renault so far in this session with Nico Hulkenberg sixth and Carlos Sainz is in 11th.
Less impressive is Haas' Romain Grosjean, who is 18th fastest (or third slowest) and he makes a mess of the latest lap by spinning. His team-mate Kevin Magnussen is currently the slowest of the 20 drivers.
We are getting great sights in Abu Dhabi and great times on the track.

Bobby: Palmer - F. Woeful in the Renault all season compared to his team mate, deserved the boot a lot sooner.
Ouch!
Valtteri Bottas improves on the ultra-softs by seven hundredths of a second, but the times are dropping and they are dropping quickly.
Sebastian Vettel takes the lead with a time of 1:38.026, but Vettel is the top dog for only a matter of seconds as Lewis Hamilton then smashes the track record with an effort of 1:37.877.
Three different drivers held the lead in only 30 seconds. We are expecting a great end to the season, and signs are looking good so far.
Valtteri Bottas' lead may not last long as Lewis Hamilton is back out on the track with the ultra-softs on.
