That's that for day one of the first test.

It was an eventful morning session as Fernando Alonso spun and lost a wheel but the cold and damp weather led to a pretty uneventful afternoon.

Thanks for your company and sensational GIFs. Have a read of Andrew Benson's take on day one here and join my colleague Michael Emons for coverage of day two tomorrow morning at 07:30 GMT.

    See you later!

Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardio finishes quickest on the first day of the first pre-season test.

  10. Postpublished at 16:57 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2018

Pottiela: Early days but given so much scrutiny on McLaren and Honda/TR, a decent showing by Renault powered cars is promising for McLaren given they've always been great at chassis dev, just needs to catch up optimising around Renault engine - Honda failed to optimise to McLaren.

  13. Postpublished at 16:50 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2018

Daniel Ricciardo presumably has the 100 laps mark in his sights. He's back out for the final 10 minutes.

  14. Sauber's day is donepublished at 16:45 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2018

Sauber follow Haas in wrapping things up for the day.

Jospeh Tolman-Lopez: No doubt @RenaultSportF1, external have the best looking car. Although definitely feel like the halo would look 100 times better if there was a tinted glass/perspex screen between the top and bottom.

Fernando Alonso persisted with a bit of a splash about on inters but he's back in the pits now.

Forty two laps on the counter, which probably would have been even more but for the not ideal conditions this afternoon.

A decent return after losing a wheel six laps in this morning.

  20. Haas done for the daypublished at 16:27 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2018

Haas have confirmed on Twitter that their running for the day is done and dusted.

Romain Grosjean is currently 10th with a time of 1:22.578. He completed 55 laps and didn't once (to my knowledge) whinge about brakes.

    A good day.
