Sebastian Vettel lowers the benchmark with a 1:17.031 as Max Verstappen goes second quickest, four tenths slower than the Ferrari.
The Mercedes are fifth and sixth, sixth tenths off the pace but there's no real flexing of muscles from them yet.

Alonso sixth quickest on the medium tyre with seven minutes left of Q1, splitting the Red Bulls on super-softs. Crikey. But he did tell me when we had a quick chat this morning there is not much between the three tyres here.
In danger at the moment are:
16) Ericsson
17) Stroll
18) Sirotkin
19) Hulkenberg
Nico Hulkenberg is the only driver without any time on the board and his Renault is not sounding too peachy at all. He pits, but will the team have enough time to assess the issue and get it sorted?

Kimi Raikkonen moves above his team-mate with 1:17.483 as Lewis Hamilton's first time on the super-softs - a 1:17.63 - puts him second.
Lance Stroll kicks things off with a 1:20.6 but he soon drops down the order as Sebastian Vettel leads the way with a 1:17.806.
Kimi Raikkonen heads out with the super-softs on his Ferrari, while Fernando Alonso has opted for mediums.
